did not install, it was alreadey installed, and worked fine in 179, 184 started the crap, and 188 is worse. oh I also send feedback, and work on ways to fix, and yes I know about Insider being BUGGY that is why I am a Insider... and I also have several SSD in the Test Machine. so easy to boot to LTSB 2015, or 14393 or LTSB 2016, or Windows 8.1.
I started by installing thru Windows Update. Now I am trying other ways to install like clean install from ISO. Now to choose which ISO to use ?
Me too . At first I didn't know it was only for Enterprise . I had Pro Edition and by the way , you can see Defender Application Guard option in ''Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features-> Turn Windows features on or off '' on Pro Edition but it doesn't add or activates it in MS Edge . -So I think this feature may be available on Pro edition this way or the other. What I did is enter Enterprise cd key and activate the edition (when I was on Pro edition) , it did add the feature in MS Edge but couldn't start it and it showed an error message . So I installed Enterprise edition and it worked. You won't see this feature on low Editions because they lack the features and services needed for virtualization and basically for it to work . Even the Pro edition lacks some services and features that you have in Enterprise edition. So, since the Application Guard uses features\services that only higher Editions have them built in, and we can say most of them is what makes those Editions for Enterprise and Business (Virtualization) , there is no way they will be integrated on consumer editions - without them , the whole Application Guard idea worth nothing..
This new build seems pretty solid. But I can not get an edge application guard tab even when I add the feature as they say to do. Perhaps I don't have a good enough PC for the feature, though it mentions no sys reqs that I noticed. I only have 4GB of ram on the rig I run Insider Builds. Ohh well, time will tell.
Which Windows edition do you have? As I mentioned above, you can enable this option on PRO edition but it doesn't add 'New defender application guard' in #dge. You must install Enterprise edition for it to work. It also mentioned in the build changelog that this feature is for Enterprise edition.
Today is Patch Tuesday So we will see CU's for Win 10, Win 8.1, and Win 7. Dona has already said No Insider Builds before Thur because of Build 2017 starting tomorrow.
you are right, and I missed that, no hyper-v on my test rig, thanks for pointing out the why for me =)
That is a very useful feature that is missing from Microsoft Edge in a very intuitive way. Somehow Cortana tries to help with that but in a very limited way by searching for links of related images without displaying them as it is done in Google Chrome.
