Microsoft is already doing it. If I wanted to run Creators Update, I had to buy new Hardware. The SATA Controller Chipset on my Motherboard was no longer supported by NVidia, so Win 10 Creators Update Would NOT install on my PC. I had to buy a new SATA Controller add-on card with new chipset to continue running Win 10. A lot of people have had problems with NVidia not supporting there Hardware in 1703 version of Win 10
The problem is Nvidia not updating their Drivers for Win 10. Both onboard chipsets and onboard video. Microsoft has generic Drivers for Nvidia in Win 10 but they don't always work very well. Microsoft has said it is up to Hardware makers to keep up with Drivers. Device Manager will tell you what Drivers are installed.
Last week i had an old Acer AIO TouchPC (Q8200) to upgrade to 10, the audio and Nvidia VGA drivers weren't available, but the extracted win 7 drivers installed fine All worked well
Yes same here. Nvidia always seem to come out with new drivers right after a build comes out. Have not had any problems with my Dell 17 inch
So far I have no problems with my laptop toshiba satellite a305-s6916, but applications no longer work with windows 10.
