Uninstalled nvidia drivers, update from iso and... nothing still logo freeze, reboot and back to 17035. I’m afraid I have to skip 17040.
here's something I found I hopes this helps. A brief overview of how to get this working: Assume your USB drive is X: and your OS drive is C: and your user profile name is "User" a) Copy the contents of the Windows 10 ISO to a USB stick X: b) Open up an elevated command prompt (cmd) c) Create a temporary folder on your Desktop (C:\Users\User\Desktop), call it "mount" d) Mount and edit a WIM (Image file: boot.wim, Index 1): d-1) dism /Mount-Image /ImageFile:X:\sources\boot.wim /index:1 /MountDir:C:\Users\User\Desktop\mount d-2) In Windows Explorer, browse to C:\Users\User\Desktop\mount\Windows\System32\mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll and Right-click > Properties d-3) Click "Security" Tab, Advanced, then "Change" the Owner to your own user account. Click OK, OK again. d-4) On the Security tab, Click "Edit" then "Add" and add your user account with Full Control checked. Click OK back to Windows Explorer. d-5) Now, delete mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll d-6) Close off all Explorer Windows, go back to DISM and unmount the image with: dism /Unmount-Image /MountDir:C:\Users\User\Desktop\mount /commit e) Now, you have to repeat D1 through 6 for: boot.wim with /index:2 (WinPE Environment) install.wim /index:1 (Windows install, Pro/Enterprise I think) install.wim /index:2 (Another Windows install, might be a different edition: e.g. Home on a Pro/Home ISO)
This build does not see data on two of my drives, it see's the drives and they have drive letters but when I click on the drives it gives an error that they can't be read. Both drives are set up as Dynamic (Simple Volume) drives. I restored back to 17025 and everything is back to normal. These drives have my business files on them. Is there anyway to convert these drives to Basic (Primary partition) drives without losing everything. Because I don't want to have no access to them if Windows upgrades again.
You would need to move all your data to another drive. Then reformat them. That is the only was AFAIK.
Why would you need a 3rd party program to convert the ISO to installable media? Windows 10 has all this built right in to it.
In the past they provided the win 7 store usb/dvd tool, but that doesn't create an UEFI capable usb installmedium, so this will probably be their disclaimer that for 10 there is no MSFT tool provided. Formatting USB FAT32 and just extract the iso to it's root works but is not a tool
it must be something in the bios setting thats causing the install issue some of u guys are running into.
The "Shape-writing with wide touch keyboard" not working with Hebrew keyboard and it supposed to work (In MS blog it written it should).
It does not appear that WZOR is going to publish the UUP files for 17040. OP link is still giving 404 error. It appears they are opting for just ISOs from UUP files this build. It is not really a big deal any more thanks to @mkuba50, @s1ave77 and others.
Just installed this latest build & it f@@ked one of my hard drives up!!!!!!!!! Made it raw unreadable gone back to 1035 & all is well! Phewwwwwwwwwwww
