checking out new build Windows 10 Pro 17083.1000 01.19.2018-1645... acquired via miniserver-master_UUP Dump the "Known Builds" section. Should have used a DVD vs USB to "save time from the beginning! ** **Error showing up during a clean install = "partition not found" blah blah blah.** Using an older testbox: legacy MBR Gigabyte UD3L main board latest bios (F9) intel C2D @3.16GHz cpu Corsair 4GB DDR2 1066MHz ram nVidia discreet video card 500GB WD Black HDD 3 dvd burners 500W 80plus power supply a lot of Panaflo fans After a few hours of doing things, moving around etc I like this build feels smooth... as expected. PS was never offered an update from windows update
When you use Rufus, choose "MBR partition scheme for UEFI", I had the same problem with my ASUS Laptop and my Old Compaq PC,
On the HP Pavilion 20, which couldn't get the update to 17074.1002 from .1000, now this update to 17083 even I couldn't get from WU! As I read on several websites that many other users having the same problem not to be able to get the latest builds from WU, and most of them showing using older Hardware, it came into my mind that this is maybe a problem of the used older CPU's. In the HP Pavilion 20, the CPU is a C2D Intel Pentium G870! I may do a Test-Install on a Desktop AMD Machine with FX CPU, also around the same age as the HP, for to see that will get the Updates from WU. I'll install the 1709 and use my Insider Account, set to Fast for to update to the latest build. If that works, I'll format that HDD and install the 17074.1000 and start again to use WU for to update to later builds. All of my Desktops having at least one Remove Rack for the Main HDD, because I've to work on different architectures and OS'es and also have a lot of Spare HDD's. Lately, I just use one machine for the Insider builds, and that's the HP Pavilion 20 because of its low power, it's just an All in One and now 6 years old.
Agree, My Hyper-V install from 17046 'S' appears now is the same as my Pro install of 17083. I even tested 'Hash Tab' on the old 'S' now b17083 in Hyper-V and it installed fine. No reason for me to test 2- insider Pro versions, will probably dump the Hyper-V install since its not activated anyway.
Sorry if this has been asked before: why can't I make Enterprise's ISO from UUPs folder?. Anyone has a solution? I'm on build 17074.
Microsoft unified Editions wince WIP 17063 only Pro and Home are real editions other editions are virually available on them, by entering the proper product key to switch/upgrade or offline upgrade using Dism /Set-Edition
Do I need a loader or anything to activate the OS? Im still on Win7 and a bit rusty with all the developments
1. Can not move the pin metro apps in the Start menu. 2. The Windows Defender icon in Settings - Update & Security is invisible.
Installed. It rebooted to finish. Sat there for a while on a blank screen. Rebooted and then said restoring previous version. Ouch!
Generally when this happens it means certain Hardware (Motherboard Chipset) is no longer supported and or Drivers are blocking the Upgrade.
