Hi all, I've got the same prob with "coldboot" EFI bug and my boot partition (EFI) gone :/ like users "petercotton" & "Blackscout". But with the workaround provided by Blackscout, i able to recover my system. But, the same bug come again grrrrr....But i have another workaround for booting everytime with a recovery usb key made by Sergei Strelec (i took the english version). Booting on this key and choose "booting windows 7, 8 etc ..........with Winload.exe" and Windows booting without problems. Tomorrow, i remote this bug to Microsoft. My Rig: Windows Enterprise Insider Preview Build 17093 in UEFI mode & GPT partitionning: - CPU => i5 2500k - Board => ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN 3 with latest Bios 3802 - RAM => 2x4Go DDR3 1600 - GFX => R9 290 with "no-efi" Bios
Haven't had the cold boot bug yet. I don't enable Fast Startup and haven't used Hibernation so maybe the bug is triggered when those are used. Just wanted to add the workaround that's worked for me. If anyone has those turned off and still has the issue then it's something else.
Not for me. This build clean installs, boots, and works faultlessly on my Asus Rog Apex VI on M2 NVME CPU pcie boot drive.
obviously I was ironic as Asus Rog Apex VI is only 1 year old; mine instead is an Asus Rampage III Extreme (8 years and still crunching )
Here I had some troubles with nvidia card but after driver update, problem aparently solved. I own an Asus ROG device: Skylake with nvidia 960 and Intel HD 530.
