RS5 will be the last of win 10 why is there still skip ahead ?

 

I've heard nothing about RS5 being the last of Win 10. That would be a godsend, an early Christmas, because no longer will anyone have to fear that someone at Microsoft got bored and decided it'd be a good idea to take control away from end-users and so far are blessed they kept the "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate" registry setting (disable driver updates in Windows Update settings) intact despite hiding it from the GUI in 1803 when it was present in 1709. Or any option really, they wake up and it's like "Dude, we should totally punk consumers by taking away this option from them and force them to use the OS how we want it to be used. What are they gonna do, switch to Linux? They certainly can't 'upgrade' to Windows 7!"

They are just changing the codename scheme as far as I know, so after RS5 it'd be "19H1" or something.

 

Should the mobile app work in this version? It does not work to load my photos from my mobile (it takes ages, 2 pictures in half an hour and many awaiting

RS5 is just the last of the redstone named series, next is 19H1 (first half of 2019).

 

How can you delete Software Distribution folder before OOBE has completed?

 

When using the dark theme the old Programs and Features becomes hard to read, because the text is still in black over a dark grey bg.

Edit: Oh this is weird. When going from Control Panel and opening Programs and Features, the scrollable frame isn't affected, neither by going there from Settings\Apps & Features\Programs and Features (shortcut at the bottom); a link to C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL appwiz.cpl will also work fine.

But when opening Programs and Features directly from a shortcut created via WinXMenueditor the grey background problem will show, because it points to %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{7b81be6a-ce2b-4676-a29e-eb907a5126c5} instead. So to fix it, the WinX shortcut must be edited to the above.

 

My Surface Book crashes randomly after the Firmware update which came with Build 17746, Build 17751.1 does not change it. My Surface Pro 3 works fine with Build 17751.1, so do my other Laptops

 

Have a question,,, how to unistalling system apps in this build? , cause the way used to be, don't work for me.

 

Is it possible to see new build this week ?

Turn Background apps back to enabled under privacy settings, this restores the function of the action center
