Why can't they just release a patch to fix the issue?

no clean install, just upgrade. made a usb stick with rufus and started setup from windows. it took me about 25 mins. now all working fine. no errors during setup.

Tip, for upgrading you can simply mount the iso (open in explorer) or extract the iso to a folder and run the setup.exe from the root of the extracted iso.

But isn't Rufus the all powerful, go-to, wonder tool that a Windows Install won't work without?

Not for upgrading, upgrades can be done directly by ISO, UUP or ESD, no need for a bootable device.

FAT32 formatted USB will work in both scenarios, UEFI or Legacy BIOS for clean install.

I don't like AMD. I think nVidia cards use AMD and I have nothing but problems. they are powerful. just problems. Intel seems to be better for video, AMD better for games.

the P4 hyperthreaders get very hot. I specifically remember during the winter Olympics a long time ago heating my room with one using prime95 (before bitcoin)

You are confusing AMD Athlon XP and Duron (60 Celsius) with P4 (35 Celsius).
