You do know this is Beta from the Dev_Channel & WILL expire ? You will need to keep installing newer Builds.
seems stable for everyday usage, not advised for editing use. You must keep udating if you opt of dev, the eval key expires
What do you mean by the key expires? IP builds need the same activation as public builds, except server, they have activation keys available.
i meant eval key, has a time limit. What ever you want to call it, i call it a key. Also, ive never needed a key to install preview builds, always comes activated for me
The build in total expires, nothing to do with a key. It comes activated most likely because your system has a HWID.
The whole build becomes expired i know, which is down to a timer and identity serial. Dont have hwid, its a personal build, my laptop does though
Serial has nothing to do with the timebomb/expiration. KMS, HWID, MSDM and key activated, all will expire when the date is reached.
Of course. I think my personal build is activated with my account, never had to use a key since windows 8.1
I got the first BSOD in 10 years shortly after installing the update, after a few minutes I lost sound, I had to restart. Not to mention, that upon installing every single Dev, I get a black screen at boot, not even BIOS boot, reset does not work either.
thanks for the quoted replied , i think i will stay away from making this windows for daily use on my desktop pc.
No problems with this build on my Surface GO 2 tablet, the only complaint is that MS has to eventually get round to fixing setup, as it does hang when upgrading to a new build. I already reported this to MS via the Feedback app.
Does that mean (by definition) that 20317 is a released BRANCH (thought it was insider Preview) -> (Insider Preview - Pre-Release - Qualify) no wonder people get confused and yes, earlier versions of the (21) branch (Prior to Windows 10X 20279) were supported... @Enthousiast himself posted direct links

That was a fast fix, it almost feels as if Dev actually matters. Code: We fixed an issue where devices with certain NVMe drives were experiencing disk resets or WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR bugchecks.
