I have no clue. I have never used Enterprise, I see no need, but I am using ProWS now. I have a digital license tied to my MS account.
I have digital license for both enterprise and pro for workstations but still deciding which version to use.
Here I have 16.299 Pro for Workstation. Tried to update to 17.074 but the system won't...after restart all Windows Insider settings are reverted back to non-Windows Insider. Any help, please? Is here somebody with the same issues?
It is possible to convert the 1709 (OS Build 17074.1000) WIM to Pro for Workstations (I used GodHand's conversion tool). After installation you get Windows 10 Pro for Workstations Insider Preview. So far, so good! However, I wasn't able to activate it. You can do a key conversion to Enterprise Insider Preview which activates. The insider evaluation copy expires 7 March 17... I have no idea what version you'll get if you let windows update do an automated fast-track update. Meaning that even if you could get PfW Insider Preview to activate, in less than two months, I think you'll have to do a complete bare-metal reinstall! Spoiler: Proof
I activated it with a kms server and the GVLK key. I inserted kms into registry. Just for testing though in Hyper-V as I have a digitally activated PWS attached to my MS account.
[edit] can you point me in the direction of where I can learn about "I inserted kms into registry"? Thanks, I'm 100% in the testing phase. When MS decides Pro-WS is worthy of receiving updates is when I decide that PWS is 'worthy' of my digital license. @Enthousiast says to wait till RS4 which is about when I'll decide if PWS is worth whatever 'hoop-jumping' I need to do to digitally activate. Plus, by then maybe GodHand or someone will provide a simple wmi solution to simplify digital activation.
