[DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Pro for Workstations SKU

What are you using for the download. Using UUPDL gives me 65 files for AiO build which should result in about 8-9 GB .

 

I'm new to trying to do this. Just downloaded UUPDL and am figuring it out.

 

In main menu press (R), then (O) to see the avail. build list, enter 16278.1000 and chose architecture, language and edition (or AiO), then the download will start.

 

I am there right now. Going to do just Pro, downloading now.
I do have another question. So I download this, convert it to iso. Mount the install.wim and change the SKU to WS. When I install this since I have Windows 10 Pro legally tied to my MS account do I need to not sign in before I update to a newer build. On that note let me make sure I have this correct
Download 16278 UUP(doing that now)
Convert the UUP to ISO using the link you provided.
Mount the install.wim after the conversion and change the SKU to WS. Save that and reboot and install from that ISO.
Once booted into Windows since I changed the SKU it should already be WS.
Use Windows update to update to the newest build.

Am I laying this out correctly?

 

For a full conversion you'll need the Home (Core) edition. After downloading Pro just restart the process for Home and it will only download the missing edition files for it and skip the main ones you already downloaded with Pro.

The rest is correct but you'll need to upgrade via an ISO of any newer version.

HAHA, Lost, Where do I go in the files to change the SKU? Sorry I am a noob at all of this.

 

Use this: S-M-R-T WIM EDITION SWITCHER and drop you WIM onto the CMD in Explorer, then start the process. It's preconfigured to change the Home index to PfW. Place the new WIM back into the ISO after renaming it to install.wim.

Yep. Will create new WIM in the tools folder, rename it to install.wim before using.

 

Sooo. Did the conversion. But cannot figure out how to put the new install.wim back into the ISO. I cannot delete the old one in the ISO.

 

Extract the iso to a temp folder and replace the install.wim repack if nessesary

 

Hmm, I would have thought I would have just been able to delete the old wim file but I guess not.

 

Not as long as the iso is mounted and not if it is still the .iso you need to mount it copy the files to another place and replace the install.wim after that get a MSMG toolkit version v8 for example copy the files to the dvd folder and run the toolkit to make the iso

 

Ok 1 last question. How do I replace the Product Key before I make the iso again?

 

You don't install and insert if asked at all at setup key ending on 6Q84J after installation activate with the proper key

 

Sorry this is confusing me. The previous poster said this "16278 is easier to obtain, and works the same. You can get UUPs for 16278, create Core ISO, mount install.wim, change SKU to ProWS, insert retail key, save/unmount, install. It will be activated. Then just install any other higher build number ProWS you have made using same method w/o key insertion via ugrade. Digital Activation! Tie to MS account if you wish"

 

You either insert the key to the iso or do it manualy afterwards no big deal
