But can we consider that the registry has been modified in his case ? or it is just because 17107 RS4 vonly has Pro and home editions as @Enthousiast said in his previous post => https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-72#post-1414063
He was referring to the fact that some might manually mess with registry to allow updates on an unsupported Edition.
This morning I activated two H270 Boards with ProWS (16578 Home converted to ProWS, inserted Key with XD863, used gaterosstate, upgraded to 17107 - home converted to ProWS too-, inserted xml, rebooted, ready). Now again, this evening I tried same two Installsticks with an Z270 Board and now i got message after inserting xml and reboot that used key is blocked... with 2YV77. Seems MS did read this forum too... Or I hope, I did a mistake with z270 Board. Will try it again tomorrow. Edit: It was an DNS issue of my ISP. After restart of router and another reboot of z270 board it was activated. Edit2: Didn‘t wrote that I used the same XML. Created it for each machine.
You made a mistake. When you upgrade there is no need for a genuineticket either. The genuineticket can only be applied on the hardware it was generated on.
If i'm correct, after generating the xml ticket file, you have to do a clean and not the upgrade, then use the ticket file to activate WS with digital license. No need to generate the ticket file if you upgrade from 16278 to 17107, in this case, you will keep your activation intact with digital license.
Could someone please help me with my WS installation. I've been using it now since build 16251 with the key ending in 6Q84J. Since one of the more recent updates however, it keeps saying Windows isn't activated. When I try activating with the same key, I get the message "We can't activate Windows on this device as we can't connect to your organization's activation server... Error code: 0xC004F074". I'm currently on build 17112. I have tried changing the key to the one ending XD863 but Windows doesn't accept that key (Error code: 0x80041014). Now I'd like to reinstall WS using a 17112 ISO but would like to hardware ID activate first if possible. Is there any way I can do that?
I see you are new here. Everything you need to know has been answered time, and time again in this thread.
I'm not only new, I must be quite thick as well because I've read it over and over but it all seems to pass over my head somehow
Read this post carefully , it explains the procedure to activate win10 Pro WS for free and read this post to get digital license at the same time.
Basically install ProWS 16278 insert retail key with slmgr -ipk keygoeshere It will activate. Then upgrade with a higher ProWS and you will have digital activation. Read back to find various how-tos.
That would be this (many times posted over the last 7months): https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-50#post-1404210
Why buy when MSFT screwed up and gave us the possibility to establish a free HWID for it, without using stolen/generated or keys obtained in any illegal way? Btw, it can be bought in the store, 125euro
Uhhm I bought it from the Microsoft store TWICE. Just type Windows 10 Pro, when Windows 10 Pro appears, you'll notice a small text on the left where it says Windows 10 Pro which says Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for Workstations
or they're doing this on purpose to encourage people to install win10 on the largest possible number of machines so they can spy on you as much as they want
