Not necessary, because the edition change enhancement in RS4 affect all editions, even the new "Remote Server"
So weird thing. I made a UUP of 17639 did the convert to ProWS. Everything went fine. Booted into windows and checked the output of dism and it indeed showed Professional workstation. Now keep in mind I did already have a digital license that I had made back with 16278 so I should be able to clean install any version and get digital activation back. I changed hardware tonight which is the reason for the reinstall. So I then proceeded to activate and I had to do the troubleshoot method. Windows said it found my digital signed license but said I had to Click "upgrade this version of windows" I did that and now dism output shows Professional and Ultimate performance is gone from the powerplan I think I am going to start over fresh with 16278 and do it all over.
No dice, same issue. Definitely did not have this issue before I changed hardware and doing the 16278 method and then going to 17115 cannot get digital activation.
Are you sure you've linked the Pro-WS hwid to your MSA? Why don't you just re-establish the HWID for Pro-WS?
Yes. Installed 16278. Activated with key XD863, Signed into MSA. Installed 17133 without key, signed into MSA and had the above outcome.
Why do you do that? When the linked DL is for pro-ws you can directly install the most current pro-ws build and use the MSA to recover the activation when needed. When the hardware didn't change you don't even need a linked DL,
Yea but what I am saying is after a hardware change it doesn’t work. I installed the newest insider build which I converted to PFWS. Signed into MSA to link and it gives the results as I showed above
The troubleshooter seems to think otherwise. To solve it, now you have to do this again: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...r-workstations-sku.74909/page-80#post-1426601 but instead of clean installing 17133.1 you should upgrade to it, or generate a genuineticket on the retail activated 16278 and clean install 17133.1 and apply the ticket: Code: clipup -v -o -altto x:\ x:\being the path to the ticket.
Ok, I reinstalled 16278, input retail key. Here's the kicker, I decided just to use Windows Update to update and got DL linked to my MSA and PFWS as normal now.
