I tried Windows10.0-KB4100375-x64.cab for update. It installed . My 17131.1 pro-WS(it is made from homebrew iso) windows restart and RUN: winver os number is changed to 17133.73 I do not unterstand how it is work
Since the pre-releases of rs4 Pro-WS and Pro-Education are able to be updated. From what you post it seems it has worked for you.
There's nothing like a separate release, as the SKU is meant for upgrade over Pro via Microsoft Store (like ProWMC in 8.x) and available since RS3.
In my original post, I haven't mentioned hotfixes, but SKU upgrade via Microsoft Store - as done by @Phoenix or others.
You reacted on my post it was available but not supported, now i replied on yours, sort of claiming it was supported by reposting a well known faulty blog.
When I upgrade from Home to Pro or Pro to Pro via the Microsoft Store to Pro for Workstation, the CBS edition remains as Professional not ProfessionalWS, thus, I am still able to get Windows updates even on Build 16299.XX
Hi everyone. Don't know if this was mentioned here before... But the ISO for Insider Build 17127.1 includes the Pro for Workstations and Pro for Education SKUs for clean installs. I clean installed ProWS from this ISO. Games like Candy Crush don't come pinned to the start menu. They're replaced with more business-oriented apps like Remote Desktop.
I bought Pro for WS upgrade from the Microsoft Store. I am changing my laptop to the same brand (MSI) but newer model. so once I get the new laptop that comes stock with Windows 10 Pro, can I simply login to the store and switch to Pro for WS? or is there another way to do the switch? I use a local account on my laptop but I sign in to the Store individually
No, I do not think so because your new laptop has a different motherboard and therefore a different serial number store license is for one computer
If you sign in with a Microsoft Account, you can click troubleshoot, and all should be good. Since you use local account you can't.
