Hello everyone... Yesterday I created a clean install ISO for ProWS using DISM and OSCDIMG... Decided to give ReFS a go and formatted my second, 3TB HDD with that file system. All seems fine. Now I'll just wait until MS starts releasing cumulative updates for ProWS and ProEducation so I can update the machine. If they published this edition in the Microsoft Store, it shouldn't take long until it becomes official and starts receiving CUs normally. Thanks everyone for help!
I thought Microsoft was going to release workstation on November 1st so shouldn't the updates on real workstation install start working by now? I am on converted from pro install right now and updates appear to be working correctly. I wonder what happens to us with future updates?
Yesterday evening I installed Enterprise edition on one of my PCs and immediately upgraded it to Pro for Workstations by entering a product key taken from my MyVisualStudio subscription. After a while my PC downloaded and successfully installed October 17, 2017 Cumulative Update (KB4043961). Now my PfW copy is at 16299.19 Build.
Not really Pro-WS: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-37#post-1387012 Real Pro-WS: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-37#post-1387034
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-33#post-1385932 What's the problem with converting Core SKU to ProWork with Microsofts recommended tool for such purposes (DISM). Nothing fishy here .
I upgraded through Windows Store from PRO to PRO Workstation, exactly what did I get? Paid around 1900 SEK for it. Winver says Pro Workstation and about-dialog in "new" control panel. Is there any other way to check if I got "true" PRO Workstation?
