1st question: Did you read anywhere, that a x86 build is leaked? Answer: No, you didn't! And now, do you think, that a x86 build was leaked ...? 2nd question: Do you have read the full thread? Answer: No, you didn't! 3rd question: Do you have used your brain? Answer #01: If not, you can replace ALL files or you can replace only the old install.wim in sources folder with the new one! Don't forget to save with another filename ...(f.e. 10056.iso or anything else)! Answer #02: If yes, why you don't use it ...? Please read the full thread and then ask again! If you don't want to read (aka learn), then don't play with new builds - asking every time the same things is really not useful!!!
Why wouldn't upgrading from 10049 work? I upgraded from 10051 (twice) - the difference is that they DID change keys from 10051 and earlier (10056 will not activate using that key). However, that is the only difference. in that area. Other differences - Spartan is the default browser, not IE (though both are present). It detects sites that you set in IE to use compatibility mode, though - including sites in builds you upgraded from. So far, neither Microsoft Solitaire Collection or Mail will launch. I've added a new game to the test pool - Entropia Universe (free-to-play game). I'm also trying DCUO again, to see if the client issues have been fixed. (So far, only DCUO and PlanetSide 2 have failed to work.) UPDATE: DCUO still will not connect to the game servers. Therefore, Windows 8.1 is saved for a bit longer.
on front page of topic it says build won't install without internet connection. this works despite that note?
I believe is not true, but you can always install it using imagex, starting from a working OS on a different partition/disc/PC...
local account, clean install, do this: well this build is all about the cloud eh, the only way I could get a local account was to connect to the network during install, but choose setup a new account, then at the bottom (really easy to miss I might add) there is an option to connect my account later, choose that and you have your local account, not liking this part 1 bit if you do not connect to network, it will go into a boot loop!
XAML apps can now be resized to (almost) any size now! I just wish I could start win32 applications from the start menu without having to run as administrator.
That's a good thing. Can you create multiple instances of modern apps ? I mean, Can you open more than one window of Modern Calculator app ?
