It isn't that hard. Try it and see what happens. I did - it went like a breeze - upgrading from 10049 thru 10056.
Thank you yousiff for adding the x86 build info and language packs. Anyone installed the Russian version x86 and managed to find their way to converting to English yet?
You can always integrate the language pack into the install.wim if you think you will struggle post upgrade. I integrated the en-gb language pack so cortana would work from the get go. It recognized I was running en-gb so upgraded to en-gb instead of en-us. Easiest way is to use NTLite to do it. (easy as in through a GUI)
Click on Start button, right click on 'Control Panel', then left click on 'Pin to Taskbar'. Easy. But to make a short cut to desktop? I see what you mean.
To place some icons on desktop: RightClick Desktop -> Personalize Left panel click Change desktop icons Mark the icons you want to be placed on Desktop, OK Close Control Panel window. To place icons on Taskbar: RightClick any icon in the Start Menu (from any place actually), choose Pin to taskbar
Anyway, Updates is something like an Must, special in an Preview OS! That could be different after the OS is released golden!
I put a clean install of 10056 on my 2nd hard drive just as I had done with every other build released/leaked. Really messed with my hard drive!! Even Win 8.1 (entirely separate boot loader) would not complete its boot because of that drive. Problem fixed and Win10 is gone again. Waiting for the next failure of a build from MS before trying it again.
I don't have HDD problems with this build, when upgrading from a previous build with language packs installed will take 6-8 hours to install one build and eats hard drives for breakfast.
I might be slow but it takes me about 2.5hrs to DL the ESD... then it takes (short time to FORMAT partition), average time to clean install via install.wim 8m then boot to via select OS, then let MS setup the install. that takes about 8 or 10 mins... If only DISM would allow me to UPGRADE the old to new via install.wim I'd have it made but CLEAN INSTALL WORKS.
