My issues have included: all the services I had disabled (including telemetry) switching themselves back on again, lots of wasted disk space and curious redundant files, a lengthy period of disk thrashing instead of a seamless experience and one or two apps needing to be reinstalled. Not bad though and as you say, unless I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of performance out of a production machine, I'll probably end up doing it again...
The only flaw, seems to be you.... This build is working perfectly, and it took less than 5 minutes to install via USB. Cortana's voice seems to be missing, but she can hear me. I just can't hear her. No biggie yet again...
I can't open any program from the 'All apps' portion start menu, Win32 or modern, after updating to build 10056
@ b d I delete Windows.old, Windows ~BT, Recovery Image, disable hibernation and other things when the mood strikes me. TBH, I have no complaints about the performance of these TPs. I have 7 on C:\ drive, 8.1 on D:\ drive, and 10TP on E:\ - all separate SSDs - I never use C or D... Only issue with 10TP is the "way too cute" recycle bin icon...
Try right click - run as admin. ETA - remember - still pre-release software that we are not supposed to have...play nicely with it.
I usually do clean installs but have done upgrades since 10041. So far no issues with the upgrades. I am doing upgrades do to the frequency of new builds and I think it is pointless to keep doing clean installs every week. When the rtm comes out I will definitely do a clean install.
That works, as a workaround. I have reported it to Microsoft through Windows Feedback, I'm good like that
Only huge problem i have that i encountered is i cant launch anything from the start menu at all except settings app lol.
