It depends on which program is targeted to debug. You have first find out in task manager witch program it is . After that it is a matter of kill the process that is used by that program

Using Titanium HD fine... install, then put the PC to sleep once(SSD too fast bug), wake up, sound works, the only issue is sound control panel, it needed old registry items you can find them in PAX driver forum thread.

A very long time install took over an hour for me (upgrade)

Also it takes a long time to log in for the first time as well. 5-10 min (and this was my experience on multiple machines)

    This is nonsense:
for example, the problem with the overlapping search box in the taskbar is fixed in this build.

    Which version of the X-Fi?

There are PCI and PCI Express versions - I upgraded from one to the other before the 10 Technical Preview started due to a HARDWARE flaw with the PCI version.

(The hardware flaw is unique to the PCI version and only occurs under set circumstances - x64 OS and 4 GB or more of RAM triggers it.)

The PCI Express version has always worked fine (in my case, the Recon 3D Fata1ity Professional version).

If it will work with DC Universe Online, 8.1's going to get demoted to VM-only use. (Yes - I'm serious. 9926 - and even 10036 - worked with all my non-Daybreak/SOE games; only the Daybreak/SOE contingent has been problematical.)

That is true with the current build. But I have a feeling that it will be extended to cover clean installs soon as well. The first step in it does not show during the upgrade and I can only assume that part is what would be shown during clean install.

Norton doesnt work on a whole. Terrible product. If you really feel like you need to run antivirus (which, in this day and age is questionable) there are far better solutions...

I smell an OS-ism (this sort of thing is, actually, quite commonplace in security software). It's why I generally avoid third-party security software in a non-RTM OS; far too often, that's why it won't work.

I had this issue as well. It would not let me install the Realtek Audio drivers through Windows Update or from the manufacturer.

The trick? Uninstall the old one from Programs and Features. Reboot. Give it a minute or two and it should automatically install now. It automatically installed for me at this point, faster than I could even get to Windows Update or load the manufacturer driver. For some reason, having the previous Realtek Audio driver installed (likely from upgrade) blocks the driver from installing again with the correct version for this build. It's all good now.

Does anyone else have an app on the start menu named "Microsoft Corporation" that just opens a big calculator that cannot be closed? I tried to uninstall it but it won't uninstall. Any ideas?

Normally that PID.TXT is already in Source Folder. Only if created from an ISO .esd file, that's normally missed!

    Now this is interesting...

Everything in the Recovery section of Settings app (Refresh your PC..., Remove/reinstall Windows, Go back to previous...) all state the following:

    Code:
You can't use this feature because User Account Control is set to always notify you about system changes.
So by having UAC set to highest setting, we are unable to use certain functions which may be of importance. This is not good because the majority of UAC bypasses are against the default UAC setting. Setting UAC to "always notify" has always been the safest with regards to UAC bypasses and such.

I am wondering, now, if any other Metro/Modern apps or functionality may be affected by this.

And how do you define "usefulness"?

When I installed 10036, I wound up giving Cortana a workout by doing typed-in Internet (not local) searches for three consecutive DAYS (about three hours worth of said searches per day). In other words, I'm finding Cortana useful right now. (And it's useful in a way that neither Google Now or Siri even permit - because neither supports typed-in Search metrics.)

Most folks use search on a PC differently than they use search on a phone - in fact, doing searches have been a lot HARDER to even leverage on a PC compared to a tablet or phone. Despite improvements that Microsoft has TRIED to make, Internet-based searching had remained tied to being browser-gated. Now, with Cortana, it no longer is.

That in and of itself is going to take getting used to (search being EASIER to leverage).

If anything, Cortana is (right now) easier to leverage on Windows 10 for phones than it is on Windows Phone 8.1.

Microsoft has been promising, and promising, an easier-to-leverage Search since Windows 2000 (that's right - even before XP). They have finally entered the home stretch on delivering it.

Yeah, thanks for that. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to log out (mid working session) and log back in to get out of it! WTF Microsoft?
