no homebrews allowed on MDL ... .... or perhaps they are since spammers obviously also can do their work and old members get spoken to as if they are little boys
I was not criticizing you - I was simply trying to clear things up (largely muddied by Creative's own creation of that "soft X-Fi" via software in the Bad Old Days of 7 - when all sorts of ODMs - and users - insisted that "onboard audio is enough"). Having multiple audio sources (you stated you also have USB) is a completely separate potion - and why the Windows Audio service is needed when you have multiple inputs, multiple outputs, or both. The only issue I had was that the default audio-out changed (from Recon3D PCIe to VIA HD audio - my onboard audio, which is actually disabled by default in the BIOS). I have not gone back into the BIOS to make sure that is still the case - if it is, then the issue is the increasingly finer-grained device detection compared to any previous version of Windows.
When I used MBR, I had 8 GB ram, but when I am using UEFI with GPT partitions, I always have 7.87 GB ram.
When this happens I use the DVD w/ windows on it & boot the DVD & choose "Startup Repair" it will usually fix the startup problem.
I had to return back to Win8.1. For some reason there is sound distortion in games even with newest Realtek drivers.
When you feel Chrome is slower it may be due to gpu acceleration. You can discover something by going to about:gpu and compare the results before and after enabling compatibility mode.
