Does anyone have details/differences with this new install setup screen. Appears to be the same as Adv sys settings _ network ID switch but I never found it that important. Although the switch could be buggy once and a while and a bit of a time waster. Spoiler Regards Edit: 1) I set it to company and than some more unexplained screens, WORKGROUP is still in ID and is the first time in a while the VM can connect to network since early builds so it is becoming more polished. 2) All Settings => system and back and system a couple of times still cause crash of settings window/app 3) Still need a reg fix to run IE with no nag screen.
It's no start menu, its a f**ked up mini start screen with an overlaying search box that takes up about 60MB of RAM (the search box). The non XAML Windows 10 version worked like the start menu. You had the search box. You had similar options. And it was based on normal windows links that are somewhere in a folder. You can right click the items. Have normal properties. Change icon and name or add command line options to the link. It can take you to the folder etc. Drag and drop worked like it should. Now you have this f**ked up thing that has no proper way of controlling its items and layout. The previous start menu was just part of the system. It made sense and was very fast. The new one is a big pile of s**t, super slow, it is not part of the shell but a bunch of executables that load the menu when you click the start button. If the computer is busy it'll take even longer to popup. Seriously I don't want it and hope Startisback will be back on 10 RTM with a way to disable Cortana and the search box. Because I doubt MS will just offer a way to disable it and get the non XAML Start menu back. I think it is time they take the android path and allow an easy way to build different launchers/shells.
Hi. A friend of mine made a fresh install but didn´t pay attention with a passwort. So he can´t start it. He said me that he needs the passwort for the "defaultuser0" ? He said that it is in the ISO but I didn´t found it.
since nothing can be done with that installation, nothing can be lost, I recommend a new installation and a better care of a password. Cannot understand what you mean by "it is stored in the ISO????" No passwords are stored in an ISO as to my knowledge
I've now finally got Cortana working in the UK by installing the en-gb version of 10041. I've also managed to fix the People/Mail/Calendar app by the 'well published' fix. And I've also managed to fix my audio problem (red circle with an x in the middle of it on my speaker taskbar icon) by disabling the external mic in sound! Everything else now seems to be working...
anyone tried the calculator open the icon Microsoft Corporation... it seems u cant exit from it unless u Crtl Del and log off
ok so i installed this build on mt tablet all works then my laptop and two other desktop builds and all is working i had no issues with audio or drivers
