Sadly i already fell for the trap for the second time...god dammit I swear I'm going to install back windows 8.1 f%# this s**t *facepalm*
As Pisthai said the 'netsh' cmds don't seem to work anymore. They don't work or give any error. Also tried the 'set dnsservers' cmds but they just error out. I'm going to try the app Wild posted earlier, if that doesn't work I'll have to wait till the next build.
That's weird; I've tried this and it worked... I had static IP's and DNS server and I used netsh to put everything dinamically...
Be patience mate, if you wanna try to newer version, it took me 24 hours to completed to upgrade from Enterprise 10041.....
I didn't try setting a static IP as the router sets that via the MAC address Maybe they only let you reset to defaults now Either way its OK now, the tool WildByDesign posted worked, @WildByDesign, Nice little tool that, gonna have to play around and see what else it does.
Since searching this thread is taking mdl a million years to give me results, can you just link me to this tool/post please? lol we will be on Windows 20 by the time MDL gives me search results... EDIT: Found it myself, on post #307 page 31. Had to go through page by page skimming every post until I found it. Not sure why search at this forum does not do anything for me.
wow sounds like u have corrupted files or a commodore 64.... it should not take a hole day to upgrade
I've given up trying to update to this build. WU threw a myriad of error codes at me before deleting the 2.4GB update from the SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION cache. It didn't install the first time around since there wasn't enough free space; once there was and I'd run "usoclient startscan" to fix the 0MB error it still didn't update since I was on a metered connection... despite the update being in it's cache. I assume WU overwrote it to try downloading again. Le sigh. Update just seems like a horrible mesh of components. It'd be a lot nicer if there was somesort of download queue like in Windows Store... but then again, Store is equally as broken - it has been since Windows 8. The more I use this OS the more it worrying it is to know they're going to RTM by the summer. Preview or not, it needs too much work.
This OS needs to use Compatibility View to play on MSN Games, other previous builds I didn't need to.
Telemetry settings with gpedit. Code: Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Application Compatibility Turn off Application Telemetry = Enabled Turn off Inventory Collector = Enabled
i install every build i can get ahold of and try it out i have a 120gb ssd drive i do a upgrade first to see how that goes then sometimes run into a problem and do a clean install i use the ssd for just the operating system and have download documents and that go to a 2nd drive by changing properties for them that way if i need to reinstall i dont lose anything i also have a folder with software i usually run that i can then reinstall on the new build when i do a clean install if you dont have time to deal with this stuff you shouldnt be using beta or preview windows or any other software that is beta stick with the latest stable stuff sure i do have problems sometimes like people mention on this forum sometimes thing get messed up eith ny me messing with files or setting but nothing a reinsatll dont fix after all other attemps fail if you wanna learn what to do to fix stuff thats not work spend the time to read the forums The Chief
Using Clean Install was need 20min while updating first was need more than 7.5 hour!! While it need that unbelievable time for updating but use clean install, seems to be that the intention is to get EVERYTHING back working include all apps and tools of 3.party, which isn't bad!
I just deleted the Win10 TP partition on my pc. 10049 was running fine for a couple of days - then this evening (with no changes by me at all) almost nothing was working correctly, if at all. Even the windows task manager would not start. Empty partition awaiting a slow release again.
