Yeah it does...but I think they have really worked hard to make upgrading actually work. It seems upgrading is getting better and better.
I feel like every time I look at Windows 10 it just gets uglier and uglier. Project Spartan: We took Chrome merged the best we could find in Internet Explorer and bam made Project Spartan. A Metro App that has a Settings panel which is a complete joke. I have more settings on some of my addons in firefox. Also its buggy as hell and feels like an alpha. It handles resource intensive webpages as though a college student had an exam on New Years Day. Completely wasted and out of it. Ok now my rant is done for the moment.
"It’s important to note we’ll have more features and many improvements coming to Project Spartan before we make it broadly available. This preview is NOT a polished, ready-for-everyone release." Hint: It's a alpha
to me Spartan feels no faster than chrome or firefox is also very buggy not stable...I know is still beta also right click don't always work .....so far I'm not impress
I have a copy of Firefox Nightly (Alpha) that I run on a regular basis that is more stable. They shouldn't have even integrated it as it looks like crap. Feels like crap. Runs like crap and is crap. First scrap the settings integration and make it a dedicated page. (I even managed to do puns wooo) This doesn't deserve the mantle of being called Alpha.
I'm always doing fresh install. It takes less to reinstall Windows and programs than to upgrade to next build. Plus, upgraded system may be slow and buggier then it should be. 10049 works very well!
I found the upgrade very good, fastest upgrade I think I have ever seen, hell of allot better then doing a repair/upgrade install on Windows 7 or 8 plus it fixed some of the problems from the last update to build 10041, aside from the mail, people and calender apps that need fixing again.
You can't be serious, you are compared Firefox Nightly to Spartan? Both may be Alphas but they are miles apart in terms of development progress
True dat - AdBlock of some sort a must for me - in all fairness - Spartan is still in the baby stage, Chrome is an adult.
I did a fresh install of 10041 and then updated through windows update to 10049 it installed fine except right at the end after it says "hi were installing apps for you" I got a crash screen, it restarted and booted up to lock screen, I got logged in but then it crashed again soon after logging in. I let it restart and it continues to crash at the same spot every time. If I had a .iso file I would just fresh install but I'm not that smart to make an ISO file lol
Ya I'm comparing between respective Alpha's. I have every right to seriously compare Spartan to Nightly or Canary. They are the nearest comparable browsers in terms of development. If they are not comparable then MS should of kept going with the development of Project Sparatan and released it when it was ready to be tested. At the present moment the browser is a complete joke and is virtually untestable due to the amount of bugs in it. Hell when you load resource intensive pages it simply freezes up while attempting to process it. The words I'm looking for are some common sense instead of releasing a half botched mess (I wanna say Windows 8).
During alpha and beta testing I try to actually test it the way they meant...or in this case in how the masses will install it. Personally I go with clean installs. Thought I do go the motions and then will do a clean install and see if I see any difference. I am not saying that just moving straight to an ISO to do a clean install is not fine but if they wanted us to have that option they would simply provide an ISO.
isos are released once the build gets pushed to the slow ring. I don't see the difference in making one or waiting.
LMAO, this guy can't be serous. Here's a hint nightly is at build 40.0a1 and the latest release of firefox is 36.0.4.
