so far so good....but still the same issues as the 10056 all apps have to be right click and run as admin to launch it.....dont see much of a improvement from the previous build
For some reason I never had to right-click Run as Admin on 10056 or 10061. I've had no issues starting win32 apps from Start menu. Yet I recall a few users mentioning this problem.
Can an upgrader look in their "Task Scheduler Library" to see whether it's empty or nearly so (I only have SpeechRuntimeTask there)? There should be all sorts of things in this folder, such as a couple Google updaters, a couple from Adobe (assuming you have Flash, etc), and any custom tasks you might have had. I had over a dozen things in there before, and I'm wondering if it's a fluke that they're now gone. These normally carry through upon upgrade. Update: Tasks are still around in %systemroot%\System32\Tasks, so you can retrieve them from there and import them in Scheduled Tasks.
I had that problem with start menu, fixed the problem when i did a clean install of 10056 from iso. Not much different from 10056, mostly just fixed bugs and fixed crashes that happen. 10061 is less buggy and a bit faster than 10056.
UAC repeatedly asks for permission in Windows 10 build 10061 Anyone else having issue with UAC keep asking repeatedly for permission for anything that needs it in build 10061. For example Settings > Update & Recovery > Advanced options > UAC prompt > YES > it will ask for seven times, even after keep clicking YES everytime. And the most strange thing is... three time in under one hour, UAC prompt showed up asking for permission, on its own, without doing anything that requires permission and again have to keep clicking YES or NO for seven times.
Yes, I mentioned that above. 10061 might be on an RC track where public keys aren't taken anymore. They'll update it or fix it on the back-end soon enough.
- Make sure it's untouched ISO - Save ~1GB of bandwidth when downloading ESD file [2.37 GB (2,550,089,354 bytes) vs 3.39 GB (3,650,598,912 bytes)] -... - Profit!
I'm seeing lots of freezes in all sorts of situations. Re-sizing Start menu can lead to tiles sitting in weird places. Looks like some Realtek sound driver problems. No People. AMD Catalyst Control Center crashes. Many inconsistencies. Lots of little things, many of which Gabe warned about. BUT The Mail app is by far the best Windows mail app ever. Calendar's great, and it handles Google Calendar entries. The "Action" Notification Center actually works (sorta) and it handles Chrome notifications. Tablet Mode is a little bit more usable for finger-philes. Much more. Of course there's a long way to go, and lots of big things and small things. But if the stability can be improved, this could turn into a usable OS.
Use the AIO creation trick to keep install from asking for a key. You will have to eventually enter one but should at least be able to install.
Instead of using Enterprise why not just use Pro. I've never entered a key, just skipped it. Gets activated & has never prompted me for key...
