Was also wondering if they would release new ISOs or not. Checked the SHA-1 hash values on the main Insider download page and it looks like they are still showing the initial Tech Preview ISOs.
That is correct. Despite the private build has been pulled off, which could be for reasons best known to them at the moment, there is evidence it will surface again as long as private users are going to get their hands on it. Speculation has it Cortana is probably going to be for partners only. Who knows that is one of the reasons they pull it off the Buildfeed? According to Softpedia's link posted by one of the forum users the build 9867 is ready to be released to people for testing. In my little understanding, going by what the writer has spelled out from information available to him, there will be no Cortana for the general public but for partners. The speculation is that Buildfeed gives out this information that build 9867 is read for test. On the build 9860 which we are expecting in earnest without anything to prove affirmatively that it will be released soon yet the build 9867 is ready for public test. I think we are going to see two builds running in different machines at the same time if care is not taking. That would be just wonderful to see.
Is it available for all or for some specific regions because i couldn't find any new build in windows update option
Mine is downloading fine. It is not in Windows Update section but in your PC Settings. Try to check for new build in under the 'Preview Build' area.
First filename is WindowsStoreSetupBox.exe, ESD is 9860.0.141008-2044.fbl_release_CLIENTPRO_RET_x64fre_en-us.esd This is for the normal Preview. Made a copy, just in case.
Impossible to tell from that post, but I'll be curious to hear if this update method is really doing the same thing behind-the-scenes as if you had the ISO and just did an upgrade.... If so, I'd rather use the ISO, even if it's a little larger DL (which it is).
From the Windows blog, I quote, "The download will range between 2GB and 2.74GB depending on CPU architecture and language."
Microsoft claims to have made 7000 improvements on this new build. That is lot of improvements to me. I hope the Ultra-high 'DPI' resolution scaling is among one of them.
