Gotta say i took it back to windows 8.1. Was experiencing problems with various drivers and whatever. Its not worth it to be formatting on every build. Maybe I'll try one or two more builds in the future but I think I'm staying on 8.1 for a while.
Yes I can confirm this. The wallpapers often show up not being quite as sharp. I can easily reproduce as well. I did not experience this with Win 7, can't confirm Win 8.1 though.
Appears that they have not got rid of the advertising pin on the taskbar. You have pinned the appz store. Is there a foobar, mpc-ht, ps, Word perfect office appz available at this store? I have yet to visit it, as that happened at download.com in 1995. They should also pin the snoop icon to the task bar, that would make it obvious as to it is what it is. I like the reg hack for my mouse wheel on win 8, it did not work on 7 :-( I am thinking of going back to 7 for security reasons. Regards
it is actually important to report findings no matter how moot they may seem. Everything reported can only help us all later down the line.
Yes, I have reported both. The issue with the WiFi systray icon switching to ethernet systray (yet WiFi still working) looks to have been reported a few times but I still also chimed in again as well. The WiFi issue is quite random and I can't quite understand why or how it happens. And the issue with the wallpapers didn't seem to be reported, so I ensured that I put more detail in for that as well. The wallpaper issue, though, is reproducible. On my netbook, for example, has a resolution of 1366x768 (runs fast and flawless with Win10 by the way) and I usually choose to lower the resolution of much larger wallpapers for this netbook. For example, I used the correctly matching (resolution) wallpaper from those recent Windows Insiders wallpaper packs released just the other day, and scale them down to 2000x1125 which is correct for scaling down to 1366x768. In the past, I used to scale them right down to 1366x768 on Win7 and would still look sharp with no inconsistencies. But with either 2000x1125 or right on 1366x768, it still distorts it significally when placed as a wallpaper on Win10, even when trying wallpapers previously scaled down and used before on Win7. And yet when viewed in GIMP or PS, whether full or scaled down, they look sharp and correct. Even the wallpapers for Windows Insiders when applied at full size without any modification, they are still slightly off but a little bit better. Absolutely, I agree that any issues, whether large or small, should be reported so that it is known to the developers and so that they can prioritize bugs and have them fixed prior to RTM. That's what the whole Windows Insider thing is all about and having the Feedback tool, having these builds to test, and for once, having Microsoft listen to us is a powerful thing, indeed. I always try to provide feedback/bug reports for other software, usually open source things but also others whenever I can.
I had a slight funky one that seemed to resolve itself. Service dropped with Ethernet, so I tried to connect with a second service via WiFi. The system couldn't connect to the WiFi until I disabled the Ethernet adapter. WiFi worked then, and once the Ethernet service was working, I had to disable the WiFi adapter to get the Ethernet to work.
