I am also watching this kernel change closely. In terms of AMD + Intel graphics it might turn into a disaster for older devices. Especially Intel HD first gens + AMD. AMD still has not fixed the bootloops that the newest drivers cause for these specific older devices. (PXAI - AMD + Intel first gen) Catalyst 14.4 being the last driver to work properly for a lot of people. I will add NT 10.0 to the inf and then sign 14.4. Chances are that compatibility mode will work just fine for most people.
I have dell n5110 and it has Nvidia GPU and i didn't got any beta drivers and when i installed 8.1 drivers the whole system started acting weird so i turned back to 8.1
If I am correct, it has been speculated that there is way for Microsoft to get around it by making people find it easy to install Windows 10 on old PCs concerning issues on complacency, to bring along those using Windows XP who refused in migrating to Windows 8 in the past. At the end I don't think I should come to a conclusion very soon on ruling out the possibility of having old systems run on the upcoming Kernel version 10.x. My believe is that it is what Microsoft is either working toward or make the PC hardware cheap for those old users by granting it to OEM free of charge.
Don't know just flashed off the power throttle of a new gtx 970 and dialed in oc (1580/8000) and it is smoken on their previous windows, we can wait for rtm on this for sure. Save yourself the headaches. If the fps are better than windows 8 than maybe, hard to tell from where I am since I am on the vm channel so far. I see only cosmetic and it appears we went from control panel to control panel catagories and now maybe heading for PC settings. I like the pc setting environment so it find with me. One of those hmmm's notes: Why do they come up with "my computer, my documents ...." and then they realize that My before many in the fat is just more dos and flakey, I called my documents folder Docs long before in dos, now it goes back to "my PC", how long before they drop the MY? Regards
The ad icon is exhilarating just as you stated though. Notwithstanding, the Build seems to be genuine.
Is there any way to disable the animation when you switch virtual desktops? I'm still at the first build so I don't know if it was removed on the latest one. Thanks!
That is not true.nVidia is supporting the Technical Preview up until the final release. Can`t post link,I`m not allowed I need to have 20 posts,u need to look on nVidia forums for more info.
I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside (OK, a hopeful guess) that one of the promised hotfixes for 9879 this week will be for none other than the Explorer.exe GDI leak in the taskbar progress bar icons. My reasoning: there's just no way that they can let that slide until next year.
Logic would say you're right, but according to Gabe on twitter it doesn't meet the "hotfix bar" Apparently my x99 chipset rig BSODing with any GPU drivers (AMD or NVIDIA) on this build also doesn't meet the bar (it's a kernel bug).
Gabe Aul confirmed 9879 isos to be available quite soon after having gotten some feedback of today's hotfix. As said earlier they all will be available in x-files-box these days
I am raised to appreciate the good efforts of others and give credit to those who deserve it. I sincerely think Microsoft deserves the compliment.
