just like Xbox One's name decision Microsoft person1: lets call its 8.2 Microsoft person2:no, lets call its 9 Microsoft person3: guys lets just call it windows 10... Microsoft Persons all together: wow we didn't think about that
Employee 1: "Call it Windows 8.2." Employee 2: "Nah, call it Windows 9." Employee 1: "I'll do you one better..."
They also skipped 4.0, 4.1, 4.9, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 and 6.0, and gave 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 names/numbers very close to the actual version number. With that history in mind, why is anyone surprised?
those are the kernel build number when u call kernel number 6.4 windows 10 its make sense cos 6+4 =~ 10 6 is like i7 4 is like 4th gen of i7 so not bad ms
In fact it is the build number. They need a build number that can be divided by 100 and 16. The next after 9600 is 10000. That's why it's called Windows 10.
