Legitimately curious, but what reason is there to use Vista over 7 nowadays? I never really hated Vista at all, but I can't think of any reason I'd want to use it again aside from nostalgia or something.
No, it's not, it's like a shinier buggier heavier crappier version of XP RTM mixed with Longhorn - nothing like 7
I installed Vista on computer 10 years old and the HDD don't stop loading (The laptop has 768MB RAM).
When walking in shops years ago when it was still new I always felt in love with its overall look, the taskbar, the start menu, Aero, and the Sidebar, everything, perfect, I'd use it over 7 if it had the new features from 7 and 8, why not, infact I went back and fourth from Vista to 7 a lot xD You realize Windows 7 was based on Vista right? of course, it was meant for powerful computers Anyway, this is kinda getting off-topic, 5 days anyone excited for the event and JTP ? We/some might end up being either happy or disappointed so brace yourselves
As long as it has the babbling brook/waterfall for the desktop like Vista, I am going to be thrilled...
No, it was 'built' on Vista, not based on it They took a heap of sh1te, fixed it, improved it, made it usable, stable and solid, and released it as 7 If you have ever watched "Chop Shop" with Bernie and Leepu, that's what MS did with Vista to make 7
Lol thats kinda harsh, considering Vista had a long and rushed + tormented development, when I used it on my Laptop I was surprised it worked very well compared to an older PC/Laptop...
I don't have enough harsh words in my vocabulary to describe how terrible Vista was, I ran in on a few PCs, the same ones that ran XP and 7 fine, and it was horrendous, every repair job Ive done where Vista was the OS, I've upgraded to 7 and 100% of their problems, gone MS themselves, Ballmer, admitted in an interview that Vista was one thing he regretted
Good grief, on a forum where computer geeks reside, I cannot believe all the negative posts about Vista. If you couldn't handle/learn/deal with/use Vista, admit it. Don't go blaming the OS. Carry on complainers...
That's a common misconception, Ballmer doesn't regret vista as a product, he said he "regrets Longhorn", he regrets the development leading up to vista, specifically the mess that was the pre-reset Longhorn development.
lol ... I myself never complained about Vista and even liked it but some "specialists" thought they can handle it like old XP and failed totally. Result was a lot of work on these guys' machines
