Man you don't have to tell me if i belong here or not i know exactly all the work i've done here. What about you ?
As long as it's not Millennium Edition or Vista, it's usually decent. There really hasn't been as many bad Windows versions as people like to claim. I think it's more of a majority opinion statement. It's kind-of strange how fixing issues with Vista resulted in people's beloved Windows 7.
No, but we do have a general respect theme going here. This is not like youtube where you can just call people names and bully them all day. We actually have some moderation for the harassment if it occurs here. But, before it gets to that point there's usually a few instigation statements, like the one the dude just did. If you let those escalate, it gets out of hand.
lol well obviously if you fix a broken OS and call it something else, it's gonna become good, Vista is still Vista though, so they didn't fix it, they left it as Vista and released the fixed version as 7 If you buy an old ruined condemned building and fix it up into a million $ mansion, it is no longer a ruin There have been many bad Windows OSs IMO, ME was fun but very broken, 95 was very broken, Vista was very broken, 8 RTM was very broken
It probably depends on the hardware. I know that on the many, many, integrations of Vista I did, it always chugged the hard disk way too much compared to other OS versions. It could be like win8 in that it's also faster overall, but slower in some areas. It's hard to say. I never let Vista remain installed for more than a day. That is my personal most-hated OS ever.
Vista SP2 is still buggy as hell and crap today, I still get many machines to fix with Vista installed with the usual mind boggling Vista bugs, wipe > install 7 > no further issues
I gotta give it to MS. It was extremely ambitious to do Vista when they were working with XP. They are very different operating systems. They changed so much about the way they handle updates and services. I remember when Vista first came out, if you did a search in the search box it would take like half an hour sometimes.
I see Vista as an evil but necessary step to the goodness that became 7, without Vista we'd still be using something close to XP And yea, I remember the search box being very buggy in the start menu search, my ex boss could crash his Vista laptop in one of many ways, one of them was searching for anything beginning with Q lol Another way was trying to install SP2, always bricked it
I should be fine downloading it... Well, I say that, I'm currently running Linux at the moment so hopefully it's just an ISO and not an SDM thing or executable.
