ok. the way i read it though is that to download you need an account ( obviously ), but to install it you also need an account. only time will tell. this could screw it up for ev1.

I have to agree with you on that statement. That has been a part of Microsoft traditions on downloading trial version of some of their products. I can remember using my MSN account to download Microsoft Office 2010 trial version in the past - where the trial version product key was sent to my inbox.
I don´t believe that MS will remove the opportunity to install using a local account. If they do we should out loud
