Surprise! I just tried a clean install of Ent in a VM. You can use the same trick as with Win8. During setup when it comes to the account section, disconnect the network, attempt a login with a dummy account, and then receive an option to create a local account. It works. Now, what happens on an upgrade that's already using a local account?
Remeber guys, stay on topic. Does anyone has the (direct) link for the 32bit version of "Windows 10 Technical Preview for Enterprise" ? I've got (and that's the only one) link for the 64bit version. Even if i choosed the 32bit version i still get the 64bit one ?!?!? 9841.0.140912-1613.FBL_RELEASE_CLIENTENTERPRISE_VOL_X64FRE_EN-US.ISO
Windows Update Settings can be changed through gpedit.msc Go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Configure Automatic Updates
Interesting things seen in WU in Enterprise: -A 109MB update for Windows Defender -The first official update for W10: KB3001512 -WU is locked down with policy, as if you're in an Enterprise. You get updates automatically, period, as reported previously, but it's just weird to see that outside of a corp environment (edit: but I see from a previous post that gpedit lets you change it--wonder if that sticks).
Wow its already released ? sorry I catched up late, I was at Uni, keep us posted, I'm downloading it atm, is there a time bomb ? hopefully not and if there is I hope someone patches it up, I would love to use it until final comes out and then I will buy it
I'm downloading both the "consumer" and enterprise ISOs and check the differences later. From what I understand, the Index:1 of the consumer ISO is the "professional edition", but you cannot activate it because we don't know the key. The one they provide seems to be for Index:2. That's why I think I'm gonna go with the enterprise one, because enterprise is basically the pro version plus some extra stuff. Anyone tried to install and activate Office 2013 so far?
