It seems MS is trying to eradicate Windows XP from PRC - which still has a significant portion of users.
Pirated XP as well? It's pretty clear that MS's new business core is not selling OSes any longer, but stuff via them.
Why not? If Win 10 is supposed to be a free upgrade for all 7 and 8 users (Meyerson's words), regardless whether their installs are genuine or not, how to neglect millions of legit XP users?
June is ridiculously too soon. So at most "insiders" will get 2 maybe even just ONE more build not counting RTM.
I have a feeling they want to release it because they know Wzor will leak it anyway when Windows RTM in the summer!
Windows 10 will have the same requirements as Windows 8.1*, so you shouldn't worry about that. I think older CPUs and MBs are compatible but don't use it if that makes sense. Otherwise Windows 10 would only work on like 30% (my estimate, sue me) of all hardware configurations. Edit: Those are OEM requirements and can safely be ignored I guess.
Great on their way to boost the hardware market It is getting more and more for the costumers where the money is What Is next an very high $$ subscription based system !!
I thought the requirements were the same as 8.1? There are some subtle differences between HW requirements for 8.0 & 8.1 which prevented me updating 8.0x64 to 8.1 notably CMPXCHG16B support.
True my bad but I was referring how the software market is build on to let people buy newer hardware to get everything out of their software
among many other machines here I'm running an ancient Lenovo Workstation Quad Core XEON beast with 48 gig of Ram, old bios of course and I would be very upset if it wouldn't be able to handle W10 RTM
