Maybe today Microsoft deceived us by showing but not sharing 9931 with us, However at least they gave us, overexcited Windows Insiders, something to talk about. Hopefully Microsoft will take the heat out of us as soon as possible.
10.0.9932.0.fbl_awesome1501.150126-1846 has been compiled anyway... (and still counting) No need for all of us to get over excited.
Installed 9926 x64 for the first time today. To my surprise, with Windows 10, Microsoft has removed the option 'Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.' For people with slow internet or limited data, isn't removing this option a big let down? I mean, think about a scenario when, there are 60-70 updates available and I only wish to download and install just about 25 of them; what should I do then?
Where exactly? And what I want is that Windows Updates should check for updates manually and let me know what updates are available so that I can tick the ones which I want to download & install - the way it is in every Windows prior to 10.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update "AUOptions"=dword:00000002
Will this enable the selection thing - what we have in Windows 8.1 presently? And why is this option hidden in 10, any idea?
Set AUOptions to “1 -> Never check for updates (not recommened)” “2 -> Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them” “3 -> Download updates but let me choose whether to install them” “4 -> Install updates automatically (recommended)”
