Where exactly? And what I want is that Windows Updates should check for updates manually and let me know what updates are available so that I can tick the ones which I want to download & install - the way it is in every Windows prior to 10.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update "AUOptions"=dword:00000002
Will this enable the selection thing - what we have in Windows 8.1 presently? And why is this option hidden in 10, any idea?
Set AUOptions to “1 -> Never check for updates (not recommened)” “2 -> Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them” “3 -> Download updates but let me choose whether to install them” “4 -> Install updates automatically (recommended)”
Windows update is not working for me, Error 0x80070057 is displayed all the time. Tried Component store repair still no luck and sfc /scannow fails after 2% The new lock screen is pretty.
With the new updates that released today, I feel like TP 9926 is smoother than before. Have you observed any speed improvements as I did ?
It slows down the system and enlarges the font of the long-on screen. I think it is not functioning as it should.
That's true. But on the other hand, it shows that MS keep an 'eye' on those bad developments and that's a good sign!!
If I were you I would apply the registry tweak to add the classic Windows Update and set it to manually search and download updates. I am suggesting a more practical way though.
