Where is the Command line tool (SetWindowCompositionAttribute.7z)? I got to that step and don't know where to find it
Just found it after I posted lol. I ran all the commands and logged out and logged back in, but I don't have transparent windows and my Minimize, Expand and Close icons are all garbled. Ran the instructions to a tee too so it's weird. When I logged in, I have the command prompt and a window popped open saying about copying my machine info to clipboard. Do you know what could be causing this?
Goto C:\AeroGlass and Delete win8cp.png then run these cmds Code: schtasks /end /tn "Aero Glass" schtasks /run /tn "Aero Glass" schtasks /end /tn "SetWindowCompositionAttribute" schtasks /run /tn "SetWindowCompositionAttribute" Sign out and Sign in.
As you all know, i'm not a big fan of this Modern UI & XAML crap. Since Windows 10 9926 uses XAML for nearly everything, i tried to get back all of the Win32 glory And it turned out very well
seriously? spin three times, fart and spit twice and then it'll work get serious all these commands for a little aero
Thanks Ace2! It is working now. When I first looked in Task Schedule after logging back in, the SetWindowCompositionAttribute wasn't running when I was logging in. What I did was change it to my specific username, followed your directions and now it worked. The only thing which I am not sure is supposed to happen but the taskbar is not transparent, but everything else now works.
Windows 8 Theme on Windows 10 9926 because why not It's buggy though, Explorer won't start if this theme is enabled
Hi mate, I followed as Aca2 guide other page to step 2 Run cmd, after that the screen keeps flasing, incompatible box pop-up with block screen, I sign-in and tried click on retry or cancel, nothing happen, can't open any files or folder....what I did wrong? Help, please.
Then why did you bothered to install Windows 10 and an OS which is "Technical Preview"? You could have stayed with Windows 8?
You need to Sign out, then Press and hold down Ctrl when Sign in again, GOTO C:\AeroGlass and run the uninstaller, then follow the steps again, make sure you Press and hold down Ctrl when installing Aero Glass for Win8.1+ v1.3.1, so that you can run step 2. cmds, then extract Experimental debug version for build 9926 to C:\AeroGlass.
I just wanted to find out if Windows 8 themes still work on Windows 10. Why should that force me to stay on Windows 8? This doesn't make sense at all. I'm not going to stay on Windows 8 just because it has ugly window borders.
I agree, id rather have an ugly UI and a newer OS, then stay on an OS that I know for fact is older but prettier, lol. If I don't like how Windows looks, then I have the right to "try and make it look better to me". If I fail, oh well at least I learned a lot in the process. If I succeed, then not only did I learn something valuable in the process, I also got more of what I want, which is a newer OS and a nice looking UI.
