Thank you. We have succeeded and when I confirmed the number 4 Enable Safe Mode (photo1), I get a blank screen photo2. What do I wrong? (photo1) (photo2)
Personally I want new builds to see if they "improved" im not loving nor hating anything so far, I always dislike Windows 8 but I used Windows 8.1 as it was an improvement and never felt rubbish and bastardized... even though some elements didnt fit, aero removed, some parts are metro and some is not.. and the fact start menu should have been an update..
is it just me or idle ram usage is slightly higher than W8.1 ? with same apps or more on W8.1 the idle memory usage about 900-1100MB
It is. There are some new backgound applications running that weren't in Windows 8.1 which results in a higher RAM usage. But PC's now a days have enough RAM and otherwise, Windows does have an excellent memory management, so don't worry. As well remember that this is a Technical Preview, so things could change.
Hello guys. I upgraded from Win7 x64 to Win10TP and have 3 questions: 1) Does anyone have issues with reboot? Once per 3-4 times windows hangs in between pre-boot state and log-in screen. I'm pretty sure it is caused by Bitdefender IS 2015 which is just incompatible - once per few updates it tells me that reboot is needed to replace files and apply update. Then at next reboot OS hangs - circle is spinning, disk is in idle (even caps-lock is not working). Also active virus control and some other minor functions are not working. 2) Am I the only one who deleted all 4 adobe flash player folders and set permissions to deny all actions for everyone? 3) Is there any Anti-virus software ready for Win10TP? By ready I mean it doesn't create and big issues but may not work 100% correctly.
1-no at least it doesn't happened yet , and uninstall it it will cuz more problems than securing your pc 2- idk what do u mean by that 3- you dont need any antivirus its been discussed x1000000 times and i don't think there are any one compatible with w10
Many issues appear from upgrade that is the reason I avoid to upgrade Windows. With upgrade the new Windows installation can have many registry from the old Windows, many issues can be from there,I mean the old registry with problems or with wrong instructions, large registry and so on...
1) Ok, I'll do that 2) I just get rid of flash player manually and blocked access to it's folders 3) Yep, others most likely are incompatible too It's my first upgrade ever. It just saves the time on installing software like office etc. and keeps configuration. I've been using Win8 preview builds for around a year and yes in this state bugged anyway... RTM is the time for clean install imo Thanks for replies
Ha Ha, So that's what the chips over the avatars mean. Number of wives... Sorry Luky, I don't know what happened there. I sometimes get the Black wallpaper in safe mode, when the theme I'm using doesn't show. But the everything else works OK. As free1975yuly has said upgrade's are never really a good choice, and that goes double when your messing with Beta software. Buggy and Unstable on top of Old and Unstable is never a good mix.
With this new XAML Start menu, is it possible to customize the tile size of apps that we pin to it? I'm not familiar with where these settings are stored.
Thanks, but I was referring to manipulating under the hood settings manually since right-click only provides two options.
This is the reason for I use an external HDD for keep my programs or backups so I can reinstall them easy.
