I installed the Word, Excel and PowerPoint preview apps. Two things I've noticed so far that preclude me doing much with these on a daily basis:

    1. Though it offers the local filesystem as an option when opening files, it cannot actually open them.
    2. Though it shows recent documents from my private SharePoint, it cannot actually open them.

I haven't created anything new and tried to save in either of these but I expect similar results.

Windows Feedback app is the slowest app I have ever used on PC (since 98'). Seriously this spinning circle is driving me crazy. It's so slow you could type something in search bar, take a nap and when you woke up the app maybe find something. I won't even speak about posting new feedback where after clicking "Send" you can take a tour all over the world and come back having a hope the app didn't crash or lost text field content :death:

Dito. The app makes it really hard to browse or vote up feedback. I'm not even sure if I'm upvoting feedback items correctly, there is the option to add additional feedback to an item (which btw is supposedly public but I don't see comments of other people anywhere) but the "Me Too" count does not increase after sending.

LOL, I just added feedback myself. It took approximately 4 seconds to search for and show me all the results. I'm not sure I can tour the world in 4 seconds.

If you cant see the office apps in the beta store (like myself) you can get them from these links directly.

    microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/word-preview/9wzdncrfjb9s

    microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/powerpoint-preview/9wzdncrfjb5q

    microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/excel-preview/9wzdncrfjbh3

Not enough posts for hyperlinks, so if the above dont work, slap https on the front

The apps are basic, but I can see these being much easier to use for simple document creation on a sub 10 inch tablet.

They are in the article, but if you havent read it... there you go.

After the recent update to 9926 there is a new How To video in the Get Started app but it doesn't show new stuff. It's nice that they seem to include tutorial videos from the beginning now. One of Windows 8.0 mistakes.

The site simply says "To buy or install this app, go to Windows Store from your Start screen.". I guess the Store should open when visiting those links?

EDIT: The apps are now displayed in the Store..

Hi guys I need help.. After installing the latest update for this build many functions stopped working ( Notifications, Setting and start menu) can't be opened. When I try to open the settings it says " Explorer.exe invalid value for registry" any suggestions ? I tried restoring but still the start menu and the notifications center don't work :(

Have you made any changes to a registry before installing the latest update?

System refresh could do the trick.

    IN Other Words...

This will NOT be a replacement for the forthcoming Office 2016 (or even Office 2013). In fact, Office 2013 supports touch today. Further, the "touch" apps DO support keyboards and mice - in other words, you don't need touch to use them.

    Geeze - panic much?

Never use Ashampoo's or anyone's version of "Nuke my Install instantly". Registry cleaners are asking for trouble.

Cortana is working now without changing my location. This starts after installing the Build 9926 new update.

Do a clean install of Windows to a blank hard drive, then install and run one of those "cleaners" - the large number of "problems" it will find should give you an indication of how "reliable" these tools are.

The tools are made to fiend so called problems so people get the feeling that they have bought a golden tool and have the power in their hands to create a perfect running machine :p Sell sell sell is their marketing strategy :D
