I hope they'll fix wireless issues, I can't connect to the 5GHz band on my router. It worked on Windows 8 and 8.1 on both my laptop and desktop
Heck, remember the Win8 launch. I agree. However, MS may be gambling that public opinion has already formed over Win10. At this point, word is out that it's anything but a dog. It's already a success, and any late, possibly negative reviews may not change that broad sentiment. Maybe that combined with the fact that RTM'g in June could easily mean that almost no one (certainly no one buying PCs) would actually have it until around September could give them the confidence to use those three months to prepare WUs for anything that needs it. That didn't work for Win8, of course, but that was a v1 product in many ways; Win10 is v2.
Actually 9926 was Plan B, because MS had bragged about "January" Preview, they just have to release something in Jan.
Well.. we will see how much "Spartan" can improve until the final release. On the rendering engine side, I don“t see much possible improvement until Windows 10 comes out. Microsoft surely will focus now on the rest of the things, the GUI with all those fancy tricks and integration into the system. Not to forget about plugin/addon support etc. If I am wrong, even better
They still don't get it do they? Those new icons are just bland and boring. They need a hint of shadow underneath(will give it a more 3dimensional) those tiles/apps/windows explorer because it just too flat and it look very bad and outdated against the background. Seriously. How hard is it for them to change that fugly arrow shortcut icon to a nicer and cleaner to something like this?
They don't actually have Spartan, they're just testing using the improved Trident engine in 9926, which is basically the same engine that will power Spartan
Really I could care less about how the icons look, I do not stare at the desktop a lot. For me I wonder about things like how the hell do you uninstall ONE DRIVE or at least get rid of it from the file explorer list (homegroup?). Enterprise will not use a live account, the appz store or store data elsewhere. This is for kiddies and phones again big icons on the start menu and not too many changes to the guts of the settings. A change of windows borders and other pretty things will not make business change from windows 7 for fluff and crap that you do not want users clicking on. There is now a right click on the toolbar to get rid of some stuff now is a step in the right direction. Regards
The link arrow icon is actually new in Windows 10. Hasn't changed much but slightly. And I really like the new desktop icons. They are simple and not childish but colorful like the Live Tiles (using similar color tones). We can already see that Windows' UI will get less colorful with almost white or very dark greyscale tones and the colorful Tiles and new icons will stay out, creating some kind of depth. If people want to see drop shadows, fake reflections and real life like textures on their desktop, they should visit a computer history museum.
Guys, is font rendering on windows 10 better than on windows 8.1? Has Microsoft improved the clearType ? Thanks
