Or maybe 13th will be the day for Windows 10 for Phones preview & 16th is the day for a new Windows 10 build
Now that is making it more of a puzzle than before. Let's go with the Windows 10 Technical Preview for non-mobile platforms.
Guys/Gals, forgive me since I've been out of the loop the last week or so here on MDL. Since it is confirmed that the next TP build is coming from fbl_impressive branch sometime in February, how would Microsoft go about changing the branch? On my up-to-date 9926 build the registry is still showing fbl_awesome1501 branch. So I am curious now if Microsoft has a way to automatically change the branch for all TP users or if they would have to release an update (similar to before) through Windows Updates to change the branch to fbl_impressive prior to release? Cheers! EDIT: Actually, this is interesting. Changing between Slow or Fast ring within the settings app remains "low" ThresholdRiskLevel in the registry regardless of which ring you choose. In previous builds it used to change between "medium", "high", etc. EDIT2: Further testing shows that 9926 is not making use of the WindowsSelfHost registry keys whatsoever. Interesting. I will keep testing to see what I can figure out. EDIT3: It is using WindowsSelfHost partially, but different keys it seems. EDIT4: fbl_impressive with "high" ThresholdRiskLevel shows build 10018 currently internal testing. "medium" and "low" risk levels show nothing at the moment.
After making a few changes to the WindowsSelfHost registry keys I've got a new option now "Connect MSA to change preview build settings" which was not there previous under default 9926 settings. I assume it has to do with logging in with a Microsoft Account to make further changes to preview build settings.
Just installed on my Lumia 635 I bought for $49 at Christmas works well, still like my Android M_8 better though
MS is likely to see a very sharp decrease in usage of the TP. 9926 - yeah, been there and done that. I'll keep using 8.1.
