Agreed, what are people trying to achieve, fool people into thinking somehow they have the RTM release of Win10?
All of things you wrote... They are not necessary... I made a hard reset to my phone. All of proper informations came back to my extras+info section. So i have win10 OS on my phone, again I have my phone's own firmware... Nothing changed but OS. Edit: After this post, I succesfully reverted my phone to 8.1, cyan.
A solution for Store (beta) problems After Micorsoft released Office Preview Apps for Windows 10, quite a few people reported that they cannot install these programs - clicking "Install" resulted in a greyd out button. This problem also kept other Store apps, like Photos Preview or Xbox from updating. Finally, after digging in the Internet I found a solution which is quite simple. To solve this problem it's not enough to switch Region and Language to US. It seems, Store is dependant on Formats too. So, in short, if you can't update or install apps from Store (beta), just change your Region, Primary Language AND Formats to US. That's it.
My tin foil hat is the Super New NSA/GCHQ/KGB proof WTP2 version, but it had a water mark on it. Its OK though 'cos I got some big scissors and cut it out.
LOL no, my point is if someone fears the NSA so much, avoiding doing banking and porn on a pre-release software isn't gonna make him any safer. Don't you get m point?
LOL, but why just give them all your passwords, browsing history etc, when in the TP user agreement admits that they are capturing keystrokes and much more? You might as well just send MS (and by proxy the NSA) a email with all your usernames/passwords.
I understand your points, but apparently you have never heard of Tails Linux/TOR and SELinux, the latter developed by the NSA and then they decided that it was the biggest mistake that they have made because they released it under the GPL and it effectively keeps them out of your secure connections that can be used for sensitive business communication, not to keep just 3 letter agencies out but other companies. There are legal reasons to have a secure connection, the misconception that everyone that wants security is doing something illegal is ludicrous. I also agree that there are just as many bad people/reasons to using secure connections, but would you rather that servers and "clouds", that you might store personal information, run a less secure Windows rather than a secure version of Linux? I'm not trying to start a Windows vs Linux debate here, just illustrating a point. Windows is in no way my primary OS, and hasn't been since Windows ME. I have been using Linux as my primary OS since then and I only use Windows for HTPC without network access. And now since Windows 10TP (so-far) looks like crap to me I will continue using Windows 7 until EOL if not longer for HTPC.
Here's a simple question:- Do you use Google & it's related products? Facebook/Twitter/any other social networks? A Smartphone? Do you game on Steam/Origin/Uplay,etc? If you use any of the above services..then these companies & other third parties already have info about you, your hardware, your locations, personal stuffs & browsing histories. I don't really care about cloud computing & yes I have heard about TOR & SELinux. You can hate Windows all you want & brag about how safe & secure Linux is but, the fact is MS is not the only company that collects data, the data mining business is everywhere & there's nothing you can do about it. The issue you are talking about is not a "Windows" issue at all
No, I don't use any of those services/products. "there is nothing that you can do about it." That is what they want you to believe. You are under their control with this mindset, or you are an advocate/employee of the data mining establishment. There are tons of options that can be implemented to protect you privacy, even on Windows. Just because I think that the rot starts at the core (with Windows) doesn't mean that everyone shouldn't do what they can to protect their privacy.
