Sorry for insisting but... Did anyone here upgrade to Windows 10 TP 9926 from Windows Pro 8.1? If so, how's been your experience, please?
ok, seems you really insist .... Have an old cheep Chinese made tablet that came with 7 preinstalled. A Atom thing with 1.6 G/Hz heart and 2 gig ram. Upgraded to 8>8.1 some day and was totally disappointed by the fact that resolution 1024*600 was not supported by windoze. Only trick was the scale-down trick in registry to run Metro. Ugly tiles and stretched imaging was the result and I was about to put it into the trash can one day. When upgrading to W10TP I was surprised that this scaling thing was solved and that old little thing now works just fine. It is no high-end piece but it certainly will find a new home when W10 RTMs.
Hi guys can anyone extra from Windows 10 9926 folder Resources i need x86 and x64 i will make theme for Win 8.1 please
Those are not my case but thanks for responding Dual boot is a good option if I had space or... maybe I could shrink my 1 TB partition...
sorry but this was my only thing I did with 9926 over an 8.1. I never upgrade an OS, I only make clean installations though
The 9926 drive I have was upgraded from 8.1 Pro - NOT a clean install. I wouldn't upgrade your 8.1 if it is your only machine...just in case. Shrinking the 1 TB partition should give you room to add another OS.
Yes I did on wife's laptop. Working great other then the networking problem that I still have with build 9926. Since I put 9926 on main system I cannot access the main system from any other computer in the house. Can see them, they can see the main one but can not access the drives. Main system is on private networking can not change it or any setting under private networking. Which really sucks. This only happened with this build, other builds did not have this problem.
It's my test machine. It really sucks but should be no problem in my case since it's my test machine. OK, thank you all so much, I really appreciate that.
The cheap Chinese tablet part is very funny. Somebody else would have had it and installed Windows 10 Technical Preview on it if you ended up tossing it in the trash. With Windows 10 final release many systems which are not functioning properly due to system requirements, perhaps, would come back to live. At least, your cheap Chinese tablet proves that to be possible.
so wtf with new amd driver ? it broke many apps like skype ( wont even start ) and manycam keeps freezing i had to roll back to previous driver and now everything working again
I stuck in a spare SSD and did a clean install of 9926, and ran it for a couple of days. When I pulled out the Windows 10 drive and put my Windows 7 drive back in my other 2 hard drives were corrupted. I was able to fix the problem with CHKDSK, but this happened twice. There is definitely some sort of disk corruption issue.
Ya I've been having disc corruption issues sense Server 9841. But upgrading firmware on my SSD and an external HD helped tremedously. Hopefully MS will work it out in next preview.
Read read read....there is a lot on this issue. Others are mocking you, we are getting tired of answering the same things OVER AND OVER.
Gabriel said this in a blog post. Add the credentials to that machine via Control Panel -> Users --> User Credentials (or something like that). Then add a Windows Credential for every machine with Name or IP (which one you use) and a username/password. It will then connect fine. Same goes for the other way around. I did this, upgraded with no problem, all programs/settings were taken over. Just be sure you don't delete the left over folders if you ever decide to use the rollback feature that is displayed at every boot. Only thing I need to do, was to reinstall VMware Workstation, all other programs that I use are fine. Microsoft did make the upgrade process better the last view versions.
