Thanks Rob but I did the dual boot thing
Maybe I'll try later the upgrade method since I'm on my test machine.

I did it only on 1 machine.
The other one I use the VHD boot method (easily erasable, but hard to upgrade, since for every new build, you need to redo everything, you can't upgrade).
Just delete the VHD and the entry via msconfig.exe when deleting the VHD.

 

Yeah, this is the same process as for Windows 8.x and it doesn't fix everything in 9926.
My running 9926 on a Netbook and after an hour or so, I can't access the 'Company' folder on my server (SVR2012R2 STD /w Essentials) yet all the others with the same permissions work fine. I have to reboot to regain access to that one folder.
Also, if the system goes into 'Sleep' mode once it awakes I can't access any folders on the server. Again it takes a reboot to fix it.
I'm accessing the server via a Workgroup not a Domain.

Is anybody having problem with 'Notifications' coming up?

 

No, all is working okay on my machine.

 

I get some Notifications that keep repeating if I don't clear them.
Beats Audio is the worse , I plug in my headphones then get a Notification telling me that headphones have been plugged in and if I don't clear it, it will tell me again in a few minutes, and again in a few minutes latter, until I clear it.
Then I unplug my headphones and the whole process starts all over again.

 

I have delayed notifications on both my laptop and desktop from time to time.

Now my Start screen is no longer coming up. Wow! Something is wrong somewhere.

 

I am so tired of Notifications - I backfeed to MS - just another thing to add to my list of why "Will not use as main OS." NEVER

 

May have to do a refresh of 9926, or wait until next week for new build to fix it, hopefully.

 

I should just wait for next Build rather than troubling myself over 'Refresh' that requires installation media I don't have.

 

Yeah, if the bugs are biting you that much, its probably best to kill it and do a clean install.

But, I'd also try and live it till next week and do a clean install with the next release.

I have the same issue but with ESET SS, MEGAsync notifications. Sometimes when those damn notifications show up explorer gets bugged and auto-hiding taskbar stops working. So annyoing to restart explorer at least few times per day. Also when I start some full screen app ESET disables self notifications and I get Windows notification that ESET needs user reaction... Of course this notification show up many times. When external HDD has been removed safely I get the notification like an hour later

 

1 TB partition. Why? I've got a 500 GB drive as main drive and have 6 partitions for various uses. Easier IMHO to backup what I need to if similar things are on separate partitions.

BTW. Dual booting is better than running Win 10 TP as main OS. If something frags you can at least get at your files, although everyone seems to be going against the sage advice to not install it as main OS.

I agree with you regarding dual boot, that's what I did at first, but later I'll upgrade from Windows 8.1, that's is on the other partition, to Windows 10 TP, just for test
