The Store (beta) seems to be broken, it says it needs an update, then fails and says it's embarrassed.
Maybe, maybe not... the fact is nobody (here) knows. MS has always been capable of the best as well as the worst so... they could very well surprise us all. Whatever the build date and number, let them bring us out a MUCH newer build to play with, because 9926's now 5 weeks-old!! It has started to date a bit. Hopefully, Spartan is part of it.
Make sure ALL your Language/Region settings are set to US before you try to update, I was have same problems till someone (Super User I think) posted the tip
