It's clear that Bromine is the future of Windows. Microsoft has been fooling people with marketing ploys. That's why many people mistakenly claim it's a "different and incorrect" Windows. In reality, there's no reason to abandon a clean install of 26h1 in favor of 25h2 today. Who thinks otherwise?
Microsoft is currently developing functionality to transition 25H2 to a new platform (Germanium -> Bromine). What is the point of installing the old platform now just to wait for the update? 26H1 is the official release and will receive updates already based on the new platform. The ambiguous public statements are just Microsoft’s marketing tactics.
So what's the point of installing Windows 11 26H1? Windows 11 25H2 remains the primary maintenance service branch. I didn't see any new features in 26H1 either. WDDM 3.3 or later? > No. DirectX 13.0? > No. 25H2 is also the official version.
No, only canary channel 28020: [DISCUSSION] Windows 11 26H1 Insider Preview Build 28020 (PC) [Canary - br_release]
28000.1575 Enterprise is extremely stable. Feels more optimized than Germanium. (Makes sense, since its primary purpose is to work on low powered ARM64 devices...) This would be a heck of good base for a new Windows Server release.
And on a side note...I think I found out that if you install a program as admin (right click install as admin) it will let you run that program as admin.
Normally, after confirming network reset in Settings, a message box will show up warning that 'Windows will shutdown in 5 minutes'. Unfortunately I found a bug on 28000.1575 where the logoff / shutdown warning box is not displayed upon running 'shutdown /r /t (time)' or after performing a network reset. Another bug is a message stating that 'You're offline. Widgets are not available' on the lock screen, even though I did not choose any kind of Widgets to appear on the lock screen. Such message does not appear on 24H2 / 25H2. Edit: This bug comes out when user session has been loaded. When I log out this message does not appear.
just a quick question .. can we install 26H1 into non TPM / low-end hardware? .. just like previous builds
sure, it works fine on my 15 years old laptop (bios, no uefi or tpm) you just need SSE4.2 just like for the 26100 builds
