Revert to the Standard NVM Express Controller driver and vivetool /enable /id:48433719,4945357,55369237 then reboot
Honestly, I’m not sure if it was some sort of 'hype' when this discussion about these drivers started spreading on the internet and caught my attention. However, on the other hand, on my computer where I depend on my work, I wouldn’t dare to install something that I won’t know tomorrow whether it will give me a stable system. For the sake of stability, I choose LTSC, and with activating this driver from Microsoft, it will just open up new adventures for which I think I can wait... I’ve already invested in the 9100 Pro, and so far it’s working fine.
@P40L0 If there's something where I have no choice, I would do it... considering how unstable systems can be, it's better not to mess with them if we don’t have anything smarter to do. Also, it's in Microsoft's interest to release this driver as soon as possible rather than have people wait... disk speeds have gone much faster than their drivers, but what can you do if there’s no other choice? Linux?
This thread had me do that I like undocumented tweaks, but these magic numbers coming out of thin air for a storage subsystem is wild. I can at least dig through git commits on Linux if I want to understand the obscure
@Espionage724 So please have a little mercy, you can make someone start looking into a rabbit hole, and now I might switch to Linux too? It's just the start of the year... okay, what numbers? You can also send me a PM so as not to disrupt this topic.
Those "magic numbers" are taken from the install which supports the new native driver, tools like vivetool can check for hidden features and then you can enable/disable them by running the feature number with vivetool.
Yeah but those numbers can't reasonably be researched as to what they do, let alone even describe vaguely what they do. I have a good idea what nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=1 does, but don't know where to begin with testing 1176759950 or if 10 LTSC counts as server to not need 735209102. 1409234060 sound cool, whatever that does. There's literally 18 magic numbers on this post (iirc there was like 3 or 6 before ). I couldn't even figure out that new video as background feature. Is there a better way to figure out what any of those kinds of numbers mean?
Microsoft's in-box Storage Spaces Controller drivers named spacedump.sys and spaceport.sys can neither be replaced nor reverted.
Yup working perfectly fine with these keys added to regisrty, tested even yesterday when updated GPU drivers
