Thanks for your info. How is it that your ISO has an extra string attached to the filename? The extra string is _a117f5fd-28fa-44d5-8690-08f87b5e928e Can I use X23-81971_26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us.iso to do an in-place upgrade? My current Windows 11 has the build number 22631.4169 and I don't want to reformat my hard disk drive and clean install Windows 11 24H2. P.S.: Do you think Microsoft will release an enablement package to upgrade Windows 11 24H1 to 24H2? It's OK if you don't have the answer.
If you are currently running 23H2, then by now, I would expect that you have already been offered a 24H2 upgrade through Windows Update. If you have not been offered this upgrade, then acquire the latest version of 24H2 (i.e. 26100) and do an in-place upgrade. Delete the _a117f5fd-28fa-44d5-8690-08f87b5e928e suffix on the iso file you download. Double click on the following iso file, and run Setup.exe to perform an in-place upgrade. X23-81971_26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us.iso It should allow you retain the current edition of Windows you are running, (Home, Pro, whatever...) and to retain your current settings, files, and folders. Good luck, and may the force be with you.
24H2 is not yet offered on public/retail channel WU. The currently released to OEM client ISOs are en-US only, so not really good for non en-US inplace upgrades, better to use the 26100.1150 IP ISOs for that, or an ISO created on UUP dump in the language of the installed OS.
Yes, I was assuming en-us language, and that Windows Update (WU) would begin to respond when the 24H2 release was official. In that case 26100.1150 is fine and WU would probably update his system to 26100.1794.
I keep calling 1742, 1794. I don't know why I keep doing that. My brain must be fixated on the wrong number. Sorry. EDIT: My excuse is that I had heart surgery this week, a TAVR, and a microprocessor controlled pacemaker installed. So I'm part cyborg now and it must be the machine part of me that is messing with my brain.
Same for me with the RP channel 1876 i keep typing 1875 but i lately re-read all my typing because my eyesight is going worse by the day and i will be forced to get me some real reading glasses (my blood sugar is not regular so i am advised to wait with the glasses till my diabetes is better under control so i don't need new prescriptions for the glasses every few months). ps, hope the pacemaker will help you
Yes, I can empathize with the diabetes challenges because I have Type 2 diabetes. I take Jardiance and the last script was $3,840 U.S. dollars but Medicare picked up most of that expense, and my copay was $141. But I keep wondering how long this can go on. I also hope your blood sugar stabilizes and you can get the glasses you want and need.
My jardiance prescription will be upped tomorrow, metformine is getting toxic lately, to much and hard side effects with 3000mg a day. If this doesn't work it is the real deal and i have to needle inject insulin Thanks for the kind words but now enough old geezer talk
Thanks friend, for your tip. I'm a member of a very popular forum that discusses Microsoft Windows. According to it, X23-81971_26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us.iso is an evaluation ISO that doesn't require activation and only works for 90 days. The words ge_release in the filename should have alerted me to the fact that it is an evaluation ISO.
