go to recovery and choose re install now downloads a full repair version of your current build Not sure if you wanted repair or not ..obviously if you want a higher build then iso is required ( or windows update if ones offered) you can also switch channels and the reinstall method will give you that channels repair build 9/10
I used media creation tool and did an in-place upgrade with version 26100.2033 but still it asks to install kb5044284 which wont install. I thought this ISO had this update embedded already. So should I use UUP to embed this update?
en-us is LpCab + LXP I have two versions, 1742 and 2033. I removed now 2033 and I try the update again, if it fails, I should remove 1742 too and try again?
in my case when I removed 2033 it removed 1742 as well check it again with Code: dism /online /get-packages | findstr /C:"LanguagePack" if it's still here then remove all one by one again the idea is to remove en-US LpCab and use LXP only Code: Get-InstalledLanguage Language Language Packs Language Features -------- -------------- ----------------- en-US LXP BasicTyping, Handwriting, Speech, TextToSpeech, OCR ru-RU LXP BasicTyping, Handwriting, TextToSpeech, OCR my current list, works fine p.s. I only aware about broken en-US language, I can't check em all so if you have something else in LpCab format then you can try to remove it as well and install LXP version instead
Im still waiting after removing the LpCab, I restarted and it takes some time and soon I must leave. I will let you know. Thanks very much for your time and your precious help Paul.
Im afraid it wont boot. It stays in a black screen with the blue circle loading. I have a Macrium backup of course. I will try first a system restore. How do I enter system restore before booting?
boot from USB drive with Windows 11 and you should be able to run it from there or hard reboot your system 3 times in a row
Im off PC now. Just to know, after the restore what you suggest? I have a 1742 image backup. I will try removing the language pack from that version? Since 2033 wont be installed.
I'm out of ideas, usually when in-place upgrade doesn't work, clean install is the easiest way maybe you really should try to in-place upgrade to the 26100.1742, this version is the base one now
