I've been wondering for a while, but how is the ISO downloaded from UUP Dump different from the MVS ISO? Is there any advantage to downloading an older build?
You don't download an ISO from UUP dump, you download the files which are on the windows update servers for online upgrades and UUP>ISO converts them to an ISO locally on your computer, with the updates of the selected build. MVS ISOs are made and distributed by MSFT.
I can understand the reasoning, but there are some things that don't make sense to me. Doesn't 26100.3321 include the updates to the MVS ISO?
26100.3321 is not a released ISO, just updates from the release preview channel, the current MVS ISO is build 26100.3194.
I understand that. What I don't understand is, does the Release Preview not include security updates for MVS?
For MVS? The MVS ISOs have the retail channel (patch tuesday = security) updates integrated as shown in this post.
Considering that the updates are cumulative and the RP update is of an higher build it should contain the previous fixes. One of the next days the new Preview update will be released as optional on WU, these are known as non security updates or c week but again, they're cumulative so the fixes from older updates should also be in.
Hi, I had the same issue for 2-3 months on 2 systems, Error: 1726 The remote procedure call failed, whenever I run startcomponentcleanup, the problem for me was a failed package "Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~26100.1742.1.10". Run DISM.exe /online /get-packages and scroll down until you see Package_for_RollupFix updates then remove all of updates that have State: Superseded, you should have only one with State: Installed, mine is "Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~26100.3194.1.13. Run DISM.exe /Online /Remove-Package /PackageNameackage_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~26100.1742.1.10 /quiet for each update (with superseded state!!!), after only one is left, reboot and run dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase I've removed ~16GB of updates on both PC's
could the Windows 11 24H2 stuttering issue be from ReBAR? I have MSI TOMHAWK X690E and I had ReBAR with 6900XT on my Intel Asrock Z690E with 4090 after I upgrade, not long after games weren't smooth, I am not sure if it was before 24H2 or something around 23H2, but I know for sure I disable ReBAR and all weird stuttering/freezes on slow camera movement are gone, if it's still there then it's the game or just OLED something that happens, but not EVERY DAMN SECOND FOREVER. and everything feels much more responsive and smooth
I know ACM still causes stutters at random on the desktop when opening apps but ive yet to see any bad game peformance, this on old 8th gen x299 system with a 4080
Which of the three problems did you have and that was fixed by doing that, the Disc Cleanup one? Also, I have a lot of packages with superseded state so it would take a lot of time to remove them and I forget to say that the PC sometimes doesn't turn off and I'm forced to click the power button until it does.
