For LICENSE switch the SETUP is verifying 3 values: CompositionEditionID, EditionID and ProductName. Best chances are given when all have a match! Was 'discovered' by @Tito and tested here. CompositionEditionID was added afer the editions got 'virtual', @abbodi1406 explainded it once. Core(N) is CEID for Core(N). Enterprise(N/S) is CEID for the Rest. No clue for Servers. To use ISO with different language, like en-US ISO for de-DE Windows, it's needed to edit according LANG entries in registry: InstallLanguage and SystemLanguage. Both to 0409. Then a Reboot (mandatory for the changes!!!!!!). I didn't need to switch edition but i upgraded that way a de-DE Windows with the 24H2 Ent LTSC IoT ISO with all my programs (loads + integrations VSCode and co).
Editing the registry key does not work for me. You also need to disable system restore before editing. Finally, editing the registry corrupts Windows activation.
Dism++ wasn't designed to work with 24h2 that's the main issue even using dism++ against 22h2 often causes dism errors @maur0 I would try to run dism resetbase dism scanhealth and sfc, you will likely see error repair that error then run dism++ again and try to clean sxs folders. Been using dism++ since I think win 10 and even people who developed dism++ said not to use it against win 11 I been using it until now. Often after fresh win 11 install using dism++ to clean sxs folders will cause dism errors then after I corrected those errors dism++ never again caused dism errors.
SSU is already included in WIM MSU (26100+ builds), you need to install it first if you are doing it manually
Heres question. when i remove some packages for example everything wifi, defender, hyperv etc, from 24h2 using for example cbsenum dism wont show any errors nor will sfc but windows wont allow me to install security updates i will get error. i think this has something to do with some policy after removing certain packages wu wont allow updates to be installed. does anyone know how to fix it i mean is there a way of forcing updates to be installed ?
