Does uupdump work for Dev Enterprise for this new build? It's giving me a WU_REQUEST_FAILED and saying that it might have been removed. Just trying English (U.S).

Hey guys, sorry for the dumb question - I just installed the latest 24H2 release preview build - can I expect this to automatically become the stable build when it eventually releases? Or will I have to manually "switch" editions afterwards?

WU_REQUEST_FAILED means potato MSFT servers, try again a few times or use vpn, or just wait

26100 has been "stable" for many months, if you are not enrolled into IP you should be on retail channel (26100.1301)

I'm not using an Insider Preview build. Release Preview. So I don't have to clean install to get the general release when it becomes available? There seems to be some conflicting information on this

I guess it was a server thing, since after repeated tries last night it worked first thing this morning.

I'm not sure how an Enterprise ISO came out at 8.3GB though (only Enterprise was selected). I haven't made one of these in a while, but that seems 2-3GB larger than normal.

there are 3 LCU now, so your ISO has a lot of old packages
you can enable cleanup+resetbase in config file, but usually it's not recommended for non retail builds, should be fine if you are not going to switch your branch to retail or rp

check these paths (open iso with 7-zip)
    Code:
    \sources\install.wim\1\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeCore\
    folder version

    \sources\install.wim\1\Windows\System32\Microsoft-Edge-WebView\
    .manifest version
if the version is different, then it got 23H2 double-Edge situation

The next interesting surprise I've encountered came when I mounted the ISO and was soon told that the PC doesn't support Secure boot (which is true). The thing is, I have Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update_v13.cmd installed, and that's always been enough to work not only for WU but mounted ISOs. It also doesn't support TPM, for example, but interestingly Setup didn't complain about that or anything else.

Is this some new twist in 24H2, which Dev sort of is?

I keep getting "Error We encountered a problem processing your request. " from WIP ISO download page, is it just me? can't generate a download link. (aka.ms/wipISO)

Edit: After 2 hours, it's now working again. probably potato servers

What processor do you have? Some have found that the minimum is a core i3 or AMD with the required instruction set, anything older won't cut it.

    Cheers.

Core i5-2500K, so it has the instruction requirements for 24H2.

the switch is not working for years on canary builds, you should change Installation Type on your install.wim/esd and use regular setup.exe
    it's not the same thing

if it worked somehow (I guess it's because of Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update) then your 'keep nothing' issue is due to different language
you can try en-us workaround https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1842221

or your edition is weird and you should use custom upgrade matrix https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/upgrade-matrix-fix-tool-very-beta.88518/

I've the same SKU in one of my (old) systems, & can confirm, I don't have any issue with this SKU bypassing the W11 requirements.
Installed without any error for sys req.

& 2500K indeed has the required instruction sets for 24H2

Via Windows Updates, yes. But if you're forced to mount an ISO for whatever reason, I think you'll find a different situation. That may require an update to "Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update " to account for some change in at least theDev series (let alone Canary, which I'm not on so haven't tried in recent years).

I'll try what Paul mentioned also.
